“Catch, what did you say to her?” I demanded, my voice low but tense.
He leaned in close, his breath warm against my ear as he whispered, “I told her that if she so much as mentioned this incident to anyone here, I’d find out through the surveillance footage. And as a made man in the mafia, I’d take her out to the desert and ensure she never came back.”
I gasped, recoiling slightly at the icy finality in his tone. “But what if she talks once she’s back home?”
He gave a chilling smile. “Use your imagination,” he replied.
I halted my steps. “You said you don’t hurt women and children.”
“That’s right, children are off limits. Women who go too far meet a special female who’s lethal.”
Would that become my life? Putting women in their place when they came onto my husband. I knew at that moment I’d have to deal with women like her as long as I was married to a made man. Tingles swept up my spine. I’d gladly end any woman who thought they could come between me and my man.
I rose onto my tiptoes and pressed my lips to Catch’s, the pounding rhythm of the music coursing through my veins.
He exhaled softly against my lips, his breath warm in the heart of the crowded nightclub. “I want to marry you right now,” he murmured.
A grin spread across my face. “Me too, Callum.”
His stormy gray eyes locked onto mine, filled with sincerity. “But we’ll wait until tomorrow. I’ve planned everything perfectly.”
“I can’t wait to walk down the aisle,” I said, looping my arms around his neck.
“Bianca,” he said, his voice low and full of promise, “I can’t wait to see your beautiful face on our wedding day. It’s going to be unforgettable.”
In that moment, the world seemed to fade away. This was real. He was mine. I was the luckiest girl in the world.
CHAPTER THIRTY
MY BIG DAY PART 1
BIANCA
The girls had taken the party to the exclusive VIP section. The most adorable sight of the night was seeing Ritchie sound asleep with his head resting on my best friend's chest.
My friends and I were having such a good time I’d forgotten that Tori and Ritchie almost died this morning.
Catch wrapped his arm around my waist and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before joining Ezra, Rémy, and Romeo near the banister overlooking the dance floor.
I placed my hand on Tori’s shoulder. Her gaze met mine. “Is Ritchie all right?”
Her smile lifted her cheeks but didn’t meet her eyes. “Arlis gave him a heavy dose of pain meds. I think they’ve finally kicked in,” she whispered loudly over the thrum of the music.
“Tori, I don’t think you noticed but when you’re distracted in a setting like this your demons don’t come out.”
Her smile met her eyes this time. “When you have this handsome guy who’s willing to die for you in your arms there isn’t room for the demons. He needs me. Also, I’m having funtonight. We beat the shit out of four women who flirted with our men.”
My mouth dropped open. “What?”
Tori kissed Ritchie’s temple before resting his head on top of the sofa.
“Brock, you got him right?” Tori asked.
“I sure do,” he said as he inched closer.
Tori walked toward me. “As I was saying there was a group of women who knew the guys had girlfriends but proceeded to come on to them anyway. I knew it was because we weren’t sitting with the guys.”
“It’s funny you mention the fight with the women. I also had a fight with a redhead. Their friend. I almost choked her out.”
