“Hello again," she said cheerfully. "My name’s Allie. Can I start you two off with some water?"

“Oh, we're not together." I smirked.

Her eyebrows raised in confusion. "I'm sorry, I thought from the way he was touching you..." Allie trailed off.

Catch ran his finger over the diamond ring on my left hand, sending shivers down my spine. "She's actually my fiancée. Although I'm currently in the doghouse."

I shifted away from his touch. "He drugged me, Allie."

Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open.

"He then flew me on his private plane to Vegas and dressed me in a nightie. I slept all day," I glared at Catch.

"We're getting married tomorrow," he added.

“But we're not," I interjected. "He crossed a line."

Allie rested her chin in her hands and leaned against the counter. "Do you have any single brothers?" she asked Catch.

My eyes widened in shock. " Allie, his actions were not romantic behavior."

She turned to me. "Were you hurt?" she pressed.

"No, but it's the principle of it all. Like I said, he drugged me," I stated slowly.

“Actually, Bombshell, I didn’t drug you. I gave you a sedative to help you sleep.”

"Well, that doesn't sound too bad," Allie giggled.

I snapped my fingers in front of her face. "Listen, he's crazy. You don't want a guy like him. He's super possessive. Clearly. Men can’t even look at me. He might hurt them.

“Allie's gaze flickered back towards Catch with lustful eyes. "Maybe a distant cousin, then?"

Catch grinned mischievously. "Actually, I do have one."

I was putting a stop to this. “Allie, two waters please. And I’ll have a waffle, a bowl of grits with cheese, and two eggs over easy. He’ll take a steak medium well and a baked potato.”

She chuckled. “How do you know we have those items on the menu?”

“This is a diner. Those are staples at a place like this.”

Allie smiled as she poured water into two glasses. “True. I’ll get that order in.”

Catch brought my hand to his lips. “You make me sound like a bad guy.”

“You are,” I whispered.

“I’m only as bad as you want me to be.” He winked.

“Catch, flirting with me will get you nowhere. I’m buying a plane ticket and flying back to Chicago.”

He released my hand and kissed my cheek. “You do that.”

Catch glanced at his phone. I’d drink a little water soon. Right now, I needed the liquor. I grabbed the extra tall glass and brought the straw to my lips, sucking down half the hurricane. Since Catch was distracted by his phone, it allowed me time to think.

Fifteen minutes later, Allie sat our plates in front of us.

“Oh, that looks good,” I heard a familiar voice say.
