“No. Tori and Simone snuck out the back door of the warehouse to meet a guy named Rosco. He had a business deal with Man-Man and Tori. He’s very dangerous. Those were her words. Like blow up entire neighborhoods to prove his point kind of dangerous. After I caught up with them at a traffic light, I agreed to take them to the meetup. Man-Man showed up with Bianca’s brother Kam.”
I gripped the steering wheel tighter again. It felt like I’d rip it out of the truck. Reliving that horrible moment last night made my blood boil under my skin.
“He was strapped with explosives.” The wordsfelt like lead weights on my tongue.
I hadn't been able to fully comfort my woman after the horrific incident with her brother.
She held her brother in her arms for a long-time last night. Then Kam climbed into the third row to rest. Once we were on the highway, I told Bianca to climb into my lap.
I put the truck on cruise control andadjusted the seat to make us both comfortable. But as soon as her chest pressed against mine,Bianca buried her face in the crook of my neck and sobbeduncontrollably. I cradled her tight against me, wrappingmy arm around her waist in a desperate attempt to ease her sorrow.
“What the fuck?” Ritchie bit out. His words brought me back from the memory.
“Losing Tori has sent Daryl spiraling,” he said.
“It has.” I blew out a breath.
“Rosco held a torch for Tori. He didn’t make a move on her until it was obvious Man-Man and Tori weren’t together anymore. Tori said she’d go with Rosco if Man-Man released Kam. Of course, we weren’t going to let him just take her. The moment I got Kam in my care, a shootout happened. Rémy and Romeo did their best to kill as many men as possible. That asshole Rosco had men inside the trucks. He drove off in his bulletproof SUV. Romeo and I are keeping our distance in traffic. He still has a sizable entourage with him. Since we’re outnumbered, we don’t want to risk losing the girls, so I’m waiting until we’re about six hours out from Utah before I call Nick.”
I heard Ritchie’s hearty laughter.
“That’s why I left my woman in your care. Well, you and Ezra’s. Catch, I knew you’d do everything in your power to keep her safe.”
My heart swelled in my chest. “Thanks for believing in me, Ritchie.”
“You’re the best at what you do. How could I not believe in you?” he asked.
I loved Ritchie like a brother. Of course I’d do all I could for him.
“Ritchie, once we enter Utah, he’ll make it his mission to kill us. So that he can continue on to Salt Lake City with Tori and Simone.”
“Ezra talked to Nick. We’re good. Send your coordinates. I’ll send a drone. Once you guys get closer to Utah, use the drone to check on the girls.”
“Ok. I’ll tell Rémy about the drone plan,” I stated.
“We’ll continue on to a city close to the Utah border. We’ll be waiting for you guys. It will be one hell of a gun fight. I’ll kill that motherfucker for taking my woman.”
A smirk hit my lips. “I love a good gun fight. I’ll send Romeo to get more ammo. We’ll be ready, Ritchie.”
CHAPTER THREE
THE SNEAK ATTACK
RITCHIE
Reclined in the plush black leather seat on my family’s jet, I peeked to my right. Ezra tugged at his dark hair. He was beside himself. He couldn’t believe Rosco had kidnapped Simone too.
“Tell me we aren’t shooting to kill that asshole. We have to torture him,” Ezra growled.
“You know how we work. That motherfucker will pay for fucking days. As long as he doesn’t try to blow himself up.”
Ezra shook his head. “We won’t let that happen.”
Nick sent twenty-five soldiers to assist. My family came through. I was appreciative. Their love warmed my stone-cold heart.
After we flew the drone to Catch’s coordinates, we hopped on the jet.Rémy or Romeo would fly the drone the rest of the way. Luckily, we were only a half hour away from his coordinates.
Once the jet touched down in a small town near the Utah border, there were six brand new black Tahoes waiting for us. Thanks to Catch.
