“Shit, Cooper, I need you to trust me enough to tell me when things aren’t good here.”

I nodded. “I know.”

“So it’s over?” he asked.

“Not quite.”

Everyone’s eyes moved over to me, confusion written all over them.

“We’ve been told of a rat in our club,” I told them. “We got a good description of her. She’s the one that sold out the information on Sheridan to Neal.”

A murmur of curses surrounded the room.

“Who?”

“Mana,” I said. Most of them tossed their heads back in annoyance. She’d been grating on a lot of their nerves over the years, but none more than me. I’d kept her around because she’d been loyal to the club, and I knew she didn’t have anyone outside the club to go to.

But this…

This was too far.

“Can I offer a suggestion?” Butch piped up.

I nodded.

“Leave it to the women.”

“What?”

“The women of this club, bunny or old lady, they are fucking tough, Cooper. They would take bullets for any of us, they’d take arrests for us. You know it. This is a job for the women, and I’m sure that woman of yours would love nothing more than to get her hands dirty.”

He knew her from before, and had always told me that true love always found its way home. How fucking right he’d been.

“All right.”

“How do you propose dropping that to the women who are friends with her?” Bear asked. He’d always been a voice ofreason. He didn’t speak much but when he did, damn did he mean what he said.

“I’m not talking about leaving it with the bunnies,” he said. “Maree wouldn’t mind a crack, but I think Sheridan might want to take some vengeance too.”

I ran my hand over my hair. The thought of her taking back her power and unleashing on Mana was intriguing, but I didn’t want her to rush into doing these things. I didn’t want her to run away.

“Shona and Maree can handle it,” Butch said. “If you want to keep Sheridan out of it.”

I nodded. “Let Maree know what’s been happening. Nothing happens tonight. No one mentions a fucking word to anybody. Conor is bringing the girls back tonight. I want our clubhouse to be a safe haven, a party for them and for Sheridan. Let’s get back to business in the cold hard light of the day, yeah?”

Everyone agreed and we filed out of the room and into the clubhouse. Mana wasn’t here, I’d looked around for her but she was absent. A clear indicator that she knew Neal would give her up somehow. She’d be back…I knew she would. She didn’t stay gone for long.

I hailed Shona over to the side of the bar. She grabbed a bottle of Jack and handed it over. I moved into the bedroom to see Sheridan sleeping. Her face was healing after her ordeal, and I knew her body was okay. She’d been all over me last night after we’d gotten away from the cops. I had been all over her too, but being careful so as not to hurt her. She’d known and had blasted me for it.

My warrior woman.

My dick was hard for her just looking at her soft breathing, wanting to be inside of her at all fucking times.

When I closed the door, her eyes opened and she looked over at me. I removed my cut, followed by my shirt and undid myhair tie, letting my hair fall. I knew she liked it when it was out, fanning over her so she could run her fingers through it.

“I need sleep before those terriers get here with Conor,” I told her. “Close your eyes.”

“You think I’m going to be able to sleep next to you when you look this damn good?” she asked, her voice all but a whisper in my ear. She ran her hand through my hair, her fingers tangling in it as she pulled my head back and kissed me hard.
