“Looks like I’m in charge now,” Mateo said. Saverio’s smirk dropped immediately, and he tried to get out of his binds. The thing about Killian’s bindings; you could never wiggle free. It only got tighter the more you moved.
A string of Italian curse words entered the air and Mateo switched the video off. Killian came forward but before he could speak, I put my hand on his shoulder. “I know. Go.”
He grabbed Conor and they left the basement where I was left alone with someone I had thought was a friend. Saverio looked up at me, the look of determination about him.
“How about we make this a fair fight?” he asked me. “Untie me.”
“Was it a fair fight when you cornered Bridget,” I asked him. “Or when you took our women and beat them bloody to get back at us?”
He knew I wasn’t going to untie him. It wasn’t the fact that I thought he’d best me because I knew he couldn’t, but it was for them. I wanted him to be unable to defend himself from the blows I was about to rain down on him. I cracked my knuckles and began to walk around him, seeing him stiffen as I did so.
I tried to hold back my anger, but it was continuing to mount with every breath this motherfucker took. I had trusted him completely. He’d been there through fucking everything in my life, even through my heartbreak, and here he was masterminding our downfall.
Fucking asshole.
The door to the basement opened with a creak. I waited for one of the men to come down to tell me something good but instead, I was immediately taken aback by the petite form of Bridget.
“Love, go back upstairs,” I said. “You don’t want to see what I’m about to do to this fucker.”
“No,” she said defiantly. “I don’t want to see what you’re going to do. I want to do it myself.”
She pulled out a piece from behind her and took aim at Saverio. I could barely contain my excitement at seeing her holding a piece, but now wasn’t the time to fuck her senseless.
“Babe.”
“Step aside, Lor,” she said to me. “I’d hate for you to get this fucker’s blood on you.”
I felt the smirk forming on my face as I did as she commanded. I leaned against the wall, watching as she took back her power.
“Conor told me what you did to Teeghan and Sloane,” she said, a harshness to her tone that I’d never heard before, but it did amazing things to my cock. “Does that make you feel like a big man beating on women when they were unprepared?”
Saverio scoffed and looked away from her. Immediately, and I couldn’t say why, I knew that had been a mistake. I saw a shift in her expression, brief and possibly minor, but it was there.
“Look at me when I’m talking to you,” she hissed, her voice dark and deep. She shoved the muzzle of the gun into his crotch, making him jump and hiss. “Does it make it hard knowing you can intimidate women when they’re not expecting it all because you’re jealous a woman chose someone else over you?”
“Bitch,” he said through gritted teeth as she pressed the gun further into his balls. I stood, insulted for her that he would call my woman that.
“Is that all you got?” she asked, stepping back. “What a waste of space you are. Let me help you with your predicament.”
Without further warning, a shot rang out in the basement and a scream worthy of a horror film erupted from Sav. Blood dripped from his crotch to the floor in pools, running down his legs. He was grunting in agony, his chest rising and falling fast as he looked up at her in horror.
“Now, you don’t have to use that as an excuse,” she said, nonchalantly. I burst out laughing as I saw my once friend, now foe, belittled to a eunuch in one shot.
“Are you going to finish him off?” I asked her.
“Can’t we just let him bleed to death down here knowing a woman took him down?” she asked me.
Oh my lord, this woman was everything and more.
“Yes, babe, that we can do.”
“Fucker, finish me,” he yelled after us as we ascended the stairs. “Don’t let me die this way.”
I opened the door for her and led her out, taking the gun from her and putting it in the waistband at the small of my back, before I locked the door to the basement.
“Give it a few days,” I say to Declan. “That’s gonna be a long and painful way to die.”
Declan smirked at me and nodded. He was a good lad.
