Jervis nodded and slunk away like the rat he was. Everyone around us seemed nervous, and eventually, a clap of hesitant approval flooded the warehouse, nervous claps and overenthusiastic claps. No one was okay with this. We were at war, it was only a matter of time before someone tried to take her out.
“There we have it. Meeting adjourned.”
People scrambled away, fearful they’d be next. Jett came around, and I made myself scarce, but close enough, I could come to her aid if need be.
It was on, and now we had to stake her claim or else she’d be fish food by the end of the week. I couldn’t afford to be distracted.
Presley
Jett stood in front of me, happy. “I knew you could do it. Kudos on the entrance by the way. Couldn’t have done it better myself.”
He moved off and left me with York and Ebony.
“Did you know?” I asked Ebony.
“Know what?”
“That it was Sonora who sent me to you?”
She nodded. “Of course, I did. I’m not going to say sorry either, you needed to find out on your own. Don’t forget the most crucial thing I taught you.”
She kissed my forehead before wandering off to join Jett. I still felt hurt, but I knew she hadn’t really been my friend, she’d been preparing me for this moment.
“We’re going now, we have business back in New York, but you’ll be fine. You have enough people to back you up. Hadrian will stay to help you.”
“Okay.”
“You have this, Presley. It’s what you always wanted.” He moved off and I turned around to look at the damage I inflicted. So many bodies, less enemies but now I was going to have to fix the problem with taking out so many leaders.
Oh well.
Time to start anew. First up, I needed a good release and Lennon was wandering around somewhere.
Hadrian stood by the car, always prepared. He opened the door and I told him to get Lennon. He did as he was told and when Lennon joined me, I had already slipped off my panties and was waiting for him.
“What’s up?” he asked.
“Get in, open your mouth, and make me come.”
He smiled at me and did as he was told, settling on his knees on the seat, he opened my legs and dove right in. Almost instantly, I felt myself clenching with his tongue and fingers working their magic.
“Everything was coming up Presley and now, I had everything I’d ever wanted at my fingertips.”
Chapter Ten
Presley
Five Years Ago
My body shook involuntarily, and the sweat rolled down into my eyes, which I blinked away. Surely, I was in the middle of a fever, hallucinations had begun to haunt me. Images of Lennon standing in the corner of the room, bleeding from the face. I’d killed him, I’d condemned and killed him.
I couldn’t cry, not anymore. My tear ducts had been on overdrive and although the thoughts of how brutal and horrible Lennon’s death were, I couldn’t seem to muster a tear.
She moved around me, circling her prey. I could feel her, smell her sweet perfume, and hear her heels clicking on the tiles around me.
“Why are you shaking?” she would ask me in a sweet voice. “Do you fear me?”
Saying yes would excite her, and saying no would anger her. I chose not to respond anymore which did neither for her. She was curious about me, and my resolve, I could see that. York had warned me she would be the tougher one, the crazier one. Even Jett had been merciless but never crazy.
