“Wh-what?”

“I have a vacancy in my organization, and I need someone to look after the Brisbane side of things. You know this business, you have connections and now you have a will to please me or else you know what will happen to you…”

I knelt so he could see me. “Again, and again, and again.”

“What makes you think I won’t turn around and kill you for what you’ve done to me?”

I moved back to my seat. “Continue, bear.”

Wilder screamed as the bear made a move to stretch him and he begged me. “Okay…okay…I’ll listen…please.”

The bear looked over at me and sighed, knowing his job was done. He wasn’t entirely happy, knowing his prize bull was going to be leaving but I did promise him a new arse or two every year.

Wilder stood up, pulling his loose prison pants over his arse. “What did you need me to do?”

“That’s the spirit, cuz.”

I moved back over to him. “You’ll run the Brisbane empire my brother built, and report back to me. You do as I say, when I say and how I say, understood?”

“And I’ll be free?”

“Free to fuck who you want and when you want,” I said. “Only condition is, you need to select your men very carefully. You need to trust them implicitly.”

Wilder nodded. “Okay…but why? Why now?”

I smiled, moving over to him. He flinched when I tried to move a piece of hair out of his face. “We’re family, after all.”

Lennon led me out of the prison and toward the car. “Do you really think we can trust him?”

“Maybe, maybe not, but I do need someone up there and who better than someone who’s been raped continuously in that place. He’ll want to impress me and hell, it frees up space if I need to lock someone up.”

Lennon shrugged. “I guess.”

I opened up my phone, knowing I received an email off King earlier. As I opened it, I smiled at her words.

Well done on taking out the trash with Hendrix. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the torture he had in store for him. Can’t wait to see what you do with the other fuckers in Sydney.

King

“What?” Lennon asked, looking down at my phone. I got out of the program before he saw it. He didn’t need to know about King just yet.

“Nothing, just an email I needed to see.”

Lennon shrugged. “Where to?”

“Take me to the airport. I’m going to see Rudie off.”

Lennon sped down the highway and towards the little airport where I’d scheduled a plane for her to take her to the US. Just like my father did for me once, but this time, it was something she wanted. I’d spoken to Ebony about Rudie’s predicament and she’d been more than willing to take her on. I’d given her a year to crack Rudie and to shape her into the woman I needed in my organization.

As we turned onto the airstrip, I saw the rest of the boys were already there. Rudie was nervous but I knew she’d get over that quickly. I got out of the car and headed to her, taking her away from the boys so I could reassure her. I did trust her, and this would help her in the long run.

“Should I know anything?” she asked.

“It’s better not to know going in, you’ll overthink it otherwise.”

She nodded. “Okay.”

“Just…let things happen. Let everything take its course and you’ll be back before you know it.”
