Hendrix screamed as the snakes climbed the chairs and came for him as he manically moved about. He kicked at them but they came at him faster and harder, their fangs bared.
I wish I could have watched it all, but I knew the boys needed to get back to work, and I needed to get Rudie acquainted with how things went here, and ask her if she genuinely wanted this.
She may think she does, but truth be told, not everyone was cut out for the demanding work this entailed and she’d earned her stripes today, which meant Rudie had earned her chance at redemption.
Chapter Sixteen
Lennon
Presley sat with a boredom that everyone could sense as they talked about where their loyalties were now that Hendrix was taken out. She didn’t trust any of them, and frankly, neither did I. Pierce and Caelan were standing guard outside, and Hadrian and I stood close by while Chance sat at the end of the table.
The one I knew to be called Randall stood up. “Please, Presley, we were stupid to believe Hendrix was the one to follow. We can see now we had faults.”
“Yes, you still do,” Presley finally said. “If you think I’m going to forgive you for not believing in me without giving me a chance and for plotting to kill me, well…Randall…that’s just foolish.”
Randall’s eyes widened and he started to push away from the table. “No…please…”
That’s when I saw Chance stand up and drag a blade across Randall’s throat. Blood spurt out all over the table, and the others. They knew not to react as someone else’s blood continued to rain down on them until he fell to the floor, his hands over his wound.
“Fact is,” Presley continued. “Randy here wasn’t the only one who tried to betray me. I seem to recall quite a few names sitting here that sided with Hendrix.”
Protests rang out all over the table as they pleaded their case with her. I knew she wouldn’t let them live, and that’s why we were here. Presley was about to revolutionise this industry and all by starting a new canvas.
Presley pulled a gun and shot at one of the men, direct hit between the eyes. Everyone scattered throughout the warehouse. Hadrian and I shot out at anyone who moved while Presley sat there, watching us and enjoying the show of men fleeing for their lives with fear.
She got off on it, I could tell, and truth be told, so did I. I knew for sure we’d be fucking tonight. Actually, whenever we killed people, we fucked like rabbits, thankfully there were a lot of fuckheads to kill in Sydney so I knew our sex life wasn’t going anywhere.
When the last fucker was dead, Presley rose from her seat and sighed. “Well that was fun but I really want to get this fucker’s blood off me.”
“On it,” I said, leading her out to the car. Chance was dragging the arms of the dead so they made a nice little pile in the centre of the warehouse.
“We literally are burning the city to the ground,” I said.
“Not the city, just the ugly parts of history. We’re starting anew, in a more intense and fear-driven society. We need better people.”
“Agreed,” I said. “But if we keep killing everyone, there’ll be no one left.”
“Are you complaining?” she asked me.
“You know I’m not.”
“Then shut up and put your foot down.”
I did as I was commanded, and we stayed silent the rest of the way back to the apartment. My dick trying its hardest to rip my pants open.
Would I ever tire of this woman?
Presley
I wrapped the robe around me as I finished drying my hair. It felt good to wash that fucker’s blood off me and get under the hot spray. Lennon was such a wuss that he wouldn’t even get in with me, something about the water being able to burn off his flesh with a single touch – blah, blah, blah. As I finished blow drying my hair, I headed out into the lounge area. No one was in the pit which was odd, there was usually always at least one person in there at any given time. It looked like the boys hadn’t made it back yet, probably still burning the warehouse down.
I heard Rudie in her room and I wondered if she’d calmed down since her trauma with Hendrix the other day. I nudged her door open and could see she was trying on dresses in the floor length mirror.
She saw me in the reflection and turned around immediately.
“Hi…Presley.”
“Watcha doin’?”
