“So, you and Rhea.” Spider smirks.
I sigh, looking to the sky. “There is no me and Rhea,” I grit through my teeth.
“I’m going to give you guys a minute,” Nova says, standing.
“Nova, you don’t need to go anywhere because we ain’t having that conversation,” I protest.
She tilts her head. “That may be, but I’m still going to give you a minute.” She bends down and kisses Spider.
I’m repulsed at the image. “Come on man, she’s my sister,” I groan.
They break the kiss, each of them smiling. “Go on sweetheart, I will come find you in a bit,” Spider says, smacking her ass as she leaves.
I glare at Spider. “Seriously.”
Spider just smirks, knowing how it irritates me. “So, you going to tell me what’s going on, or you going to try and act badly?” he asks.
“I might add,” I start. “That nothing is going on.” He raises his brow like he knows everything already, which I know is impossible, as Scar nor me, haven’t said a word. Beast only know a part of it. “We slept together once, that’s it. That is all there is to it.” I shrug, keeping my face neutral. Normally I word share pretty much everything with Spider, but not this time. I have made a promise to Rhea, so I will stick to it. Plus, I kind of liked having something that was just for me. Well and Scar, but I wasn’t about to go thinking like that.
“Beast said something happened at the apartment earlier,” Spider counters.
I sigh and roll my eyes. “Not that it’s any of your business, but yeah something happened. Nothing serious. Everything is good. Rhea and I are friends,” I reiterate again. Spider nods, although his eyes say he doesn’t believe me. “Is that it?” I ask.
He lets out a sigh and shakes his head. “So, I want to ask you something,” He states, his whole demeanour changing as he changes the subject.
My back goes straight as I sense the seriousness in his tone. “Anything brother, you know that,” I state.
He looks around, making sure that no one else is around before hie reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small velvet box. He opens it, revealing a sapphire ring. My mouth opens and my eyes go wide.
“I want to ask Nova to marry me,” he states. I’m shocked. I knew they were madly in love. Hell, I’m not blind, but they haven’t even been together that long. I assumed it would be one of the other brothers to get married first. “She is fucking everything to me. I wanted to ask for your blessing first. I wouldn’t fucking do it without you being okay with it,” he states.
I look at him, a smirk playing on my lips. “Like you’d fucking listen to me. I didn’t want you fucking my sister and you didn’t fucking listen then,” I point out.
He smiles. “Fair point,” he says, holding his hands up in surrender. “I wouldn’t ask her if you weren’t happy with it. Even without this ring, she’s still mine. But with the shit going on, if something was to happen to me, I want her taken care of. It’s not the reason I want to marry her, but it’s the reason why I want to marry her now. I have money saved and I have the house. If she’s my wife by law, it all goes to her. I ain’t never going to stop loving her, and I was going to marry her one day in the year or so, but if it comes to it and I have to step forward and take responsibility for this, I want to do it knowing she’s secure,” he states adamantly.
I look down at the ring, then back at him, smiling wide. “I guess this means we will be actually fucking brothers,” I declare.
Spider returns my smile. “In law and in bond.”
I stand up, as does Acid, and lean over the table, embracing each other in a brief hug before slapping each other on the back. “Fucking happy for you, man,” I tell him before sitting back down. “When are you going to ask her?” I question.
“Tonight, at home. In private. I don’t want to do it in front of the club and put that kind of pressure on her,” he says as he puts the little box away in his pocket.
“You mean in case she says no, and you’ve got to face everyone.” I smirk.
He smiles. “There is that.”
“And if I hear you saying stupid shit like some thing’s going happen to you again. I will kick you in the balls,” I threaten.
“I don’t think your sister will be too pleased about that. She’s grown quite found of my balls.” He laughs.
I get up. “Yep, I’ve changed my mind. You can’t marry my sister now,” I state before walking away, leaving Spider laughing on his own.
“Send your sister back out!” he yells after me. I flip him off as I head back inside.
