Chitra laughed. “I’m thinking of our initial days when you made us wait even to kiss until we got married.”

“It was hard,” Mihir confessed with a smile. “You were so breathtakingly beautiful.”

Chitra blushed as she laughed.

After they had confessed their love and were together, Chitra was sure Mihir would break his resolve. She had seen his desire for her in his eyes, but he maintained his strong resolve.

It was on his university graduation day when she agreed to marry him. They wanted to travel to Singoor to get married, but things had rapidly changed in Mihir’s homeland. Goddess Shakti's statue had been stolen, and there was chaos and danger in the Singoor desert.

Mihir’s older brother and sister insisted on them getting married and staying in America until the violence in the region settled.

Mihir and she got married in a simple ceremony at a temple. And over the years, their love grew stronger. They had three beautiful sons whom they doted on.

But a decade later, tragedy struck their family when Mihir’s older brother and sister died in a car accident. As the clan head, Mihir had to return to Singoor.

He returned without his family to keep them safe.

Chitra’s heart still broke recalling the decision. But she knew the man she loved would sacrifice his happiness to keep his loved ones safe. After he left, she found out that she was pregnant with their fourth child. After their daughter Nandini was born, it took all of Chitra’s strength not to go to Mihir. It nearly broke her, but she drew strength from their love to keep their family safe.

Decades later, fate brought them back together.

Chitra leaned on Mihir’s shoulder. “I sometimes still can’t believe how blessed I am to be so happy and have all of my dreams come true.”

Mihir kissed her forehead. “Yes, we are blessed, my love,” he said.

Chitra smiled. “I’m also happy that while bringing us back together, our children have found love.”

Mihir smiled. “Our children are blessed to find love as strong as ours.”

Chitra agreed. The Thakvar family was indeed blessed to have found love that withstood the test of time.

Shivay and Ishani

Thakvar Corporation Headquarters,

India.

“Mrs. Thakvar, based on my qualifications and earlier rounds of interviews with the team, I hope to be a part of the Singoor Educational institutions.”

Ishani looked at the professor. “Why did you choose Singoor, Dr. Smith?”

“I have taught in most parts of the world. I love the Indian culture and food, and I know the Singoor region represents the best of it.”

Ishani agreed with the man’s words.

“Thank you, Dr. Smith,” she said with a smile before closing the file in front of her, indicating the end of the interview. “Our team will reach out to you soon.”

Ishani thanked the professor for his time and settled back into the chair in her office, which was set up in the same building as the Thakvar Corporation headquarters.

An entire floor was set up for the administration of the many different educational institutes in the Singoor region.

Thanks to her father-in-law’s vision, Singoor had some of the best educational institutions in the world.

She was currently interviewing candidates for the position of Biomedical Engineering division head at Singoor University. All potential candidates have been flown into the Singoor region for earlier interviews with other professors and teams, but the final round of interviews was always with her.

Her job was to ensure the candidate picked would appreciate their job, remain long-term in Singoor, and enrich the young minds. The Singoor educational institutions had become so well-known over the years that everyone in the academic field wanted to take up the job for recognition, pay, and luxuries offered as part of the salary package.

Ishani finished typing the notes from the interview when she heard the door open.
