“It’s just us, and you are mine…wife,” Nakul plastered his lips to hers, making her heart drum a parade in her chest.

Even though they were at a public event and only feet away from everyone at the carnival, she could only think about giving in to her need to be lost in the thrill of a heated engagement.

His lips got hungrier, and she matched his eagerness, and just when she thought their passion would go out of control, thelong single horn from that stadium went off, indicating a new round of games.

She pulled back, their breathing coming fast as he cupped her face and held their foreheads together. “You are unbelievable, and I promise to make it up to you tonight.”

She smiled before gently brushing her lips over his. “You’re such a bad influence.”

“Can’t help it. My wife is steaming hot!” He pulled back and ran his fingers through his hair as she adjusted her saree.

“Let’s go before they start looking for me.” She laughed as he ran his hand over her waist like he was smoothening her saree, but she knew her husband took every opportunity to worship her curves.

He opened the door and stood to one side. “After you, Maaho.”

A few moments later, they approached the observation deck of the arena, and it allowed her to follow the spear sparring, Javelin throws, and other activities all at the same time. No matter how many times she witnessed the players of Singoor participate in these sports, it always made Aadhya emotional.

It was a vague idea she had many years ago about having a training facility that would train people of all ages to learn the traditional sports involving the Kanwar war weapon, the spear. She remembered the days when her father taught her how to spar with a spear, and she thoroughly enjoyed winning over her father, who was considered the strongest warrior in the region.

“I love this place, and this will be the best gift you’ve ever given me,” she said, looking at her husband with eternal gratitude as it was he who took her mere words and made it a reality that was even beyond her imagination.

“Maaho, I take my job of keeping you happy, in every possible way, very seriously.” He winked, and it only made her heart skip a beat, just like it had the first time over ten years ago.

Later that night, she was putting them to sleep in the boy’s room when Nakul got an unexpected call. It was his time with the boys every night when he wasn’t traveling for business, but that night was an exception.

Their youngest was just about to fall asleep when Nakul opened the door rather loudly.

“Nakul,” she hissed angrily, gently patting their son back to sleep.

Neither her glaring eyes nor her angry hiss seemed to bother Nakul. He came up to her and pulled her into his arms, his lips descending on hers for a hard kiss. “You did it, Aadhya.”

She squashed him aggressively as he carried her out of the boys’ bedroom like she weighed nothing. She was never a slender structure, and after two babies, her curves were well defined, but to him, it was as if she was feather-light.

“Nakul, what are you doing?” she asked as he carried her into their bedroom before flopping her on the bed, making her squeal.

“What is going on?” she demanded as he picked up the tablet on the bedside table.

“You will need to see this with your eyes.” He typed something on the screen before placing the device on her lap. “This is what you’ve done, not just for the clan but for the entire region. I’m so proud of you!”

The hand that held the tablet shook as she read the breaking news headline.

Anusha Kanwar Wins Gold Medal in Javelin throw at the Commonwealth Games.

“Anusha Kanwar from the Singoor region is the first woman to win a medal for India,” Aadhya read with a shaky voice as happy tears rolled down her cheeks. “This is amazing!!” She threw her arms around him.

Nakul kissed her on the cheek. “This is all you. You were the one who encouraged her and many other girls to be a part of the Kanwar Athletic Club and pursue the sport.”

Aadhya pulled back to look at Nakul. “Anusha worked hard, and you were the one who built the Athletic club; how can I be the one to get any credit? It’s you, and I love you so much!”

Something flashed in his eyes before his lips descended on hers too gently. “I will do anything for that sparkle in your eyes.”

She imploded with emotions as her fingers ran into the thick hair on the back of his head, pulling him into a kiss. Even after ten years of marriage, he knew how to make her heart go on a rampage like it did when she had developed an attraction toward him.

If the sheer attraction made it hard for her to breathe, the love that they shared for each other made her want to share every breath of hers with him. Their engagement got intense, and she was lost in a whirlpool of emotions and sensations as his warmth enveloped her. They shared every breath they took as they peaked together, sharing yet another heated yet wonderful moment that they would cherish forever.
