She moaned because he dug a little deeper and she never realized how great a leg massage could be. “Very. Very, very rough.”
With a husky laugh, he moved to her other leg and began doing the same thing. “Lucky for you I have expert hands to help ease all of your aches.”
You got that right…
It didn’t seem possible for her to feel this good so soon after having several orgasms, and yet…here she was.
“Tell me where else it hurts,” he whispered.
My heart.
Without words, she guided his lips to hers and kissed him until she was breathless and panting. “You’re my reward at the end of the day too,” she said quietly, her eyes scanning his face, his handsome, rugged face.
“How about we reward ourselves again?”
Without waiting for an answer, he moved over her, settling between her thighs. Billie wrapped her legs tightly around his waist and relished the feel of him and how he was the only man to ever make her feel this sexy, this wild with need, this…loved.
If only the clock wasn’t ticking on their time together.
“It was seriously the most romantic place ever!” Chloe was saying on Saturday night, as she described her and Tanner’s honeymoon to Key Largo, Florida. “The water was so wonderful, the food was amazing, and it was the most incredible place I’ve ever been to!”
After taking a sip of his wine, Tanner agreed. “The rooms were all private bungalows with outdoor verandas, oversized soaking tubs, and garden showers. Honestly, I don’t think there was a bad room on the entire property. It felt great to just be lazy and relax.”
“Sounds like heaven,” Jade said wistfully.
“It was,” Chloe agreed. “Oh! And I forgot to tell you all the craziest part!” She was practically bouncing in her seat with excitement. “We ended up on the same flight to Key Largo as Sloane and Hailey! We didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time visiting with them because of all the wedding stuff, but we were telling them all about…you know…life here in Sweetbriar, and Hailey said she’s actually considering moving up this way! She said she’s tired of life in Florida and is ready for a change of scenery! How cool would that be?”
“Oh my God! I can’t believe she didn’t mention that at the wedding. I spent some time catching up with her and Sloane and it was crazy how much time has passed!” Billie said. “That’s something I always regretted about the years we lost with Dad—we missed out on seeing our Donovan cousins.”
“Dad swears he’s working on getting the family—all the family—to come and visit,” Levi explained. “I’m not sure Sweetbriar Ridge is a big vacation destination for anyone, but it would be nice to see everyone. So many of them haven’t come to the weddings…”
“That’s because we plan them on short notice,” Ash joked.
“Only because we’re all eager to go on our honeymoons,” Chloe said with a big grin.
“I love that you guys had such a peaceful trip, Chlo, but I think Reid and I would have gone crazy on a relaxing honeymoon,” Ash stated. “I mean, I see the appeal, but we went a completely different way.”
Beside her, Reid rested his arm along the back of her chair. “I had always dreamed of going to Alaska but couldn’t ever imagine it as a honeymoon destination. We fished, we hiked, we saw glaciers…it was freaking awesome.”
“Our cruise to Italy was truly spectacular,” Jade chimed in. “It was a lot of traveling with the flights and everything, but once we got on the ship, it was just…everything.”
“The food was better than I could have imagined,” Levi added. “It was so different from what I was expecting because it was all so fresh! I guess I never realized how processed so many foods are, but we always swore if we could go away again, we’d go back to Italy.”
“I’d love to throw France and possibly Spain in there too,” Jade said. “But that would require like…three weeks away, and we couldn’t leave the boys for that long.”
“Why not make it a family trip?” Billie asked. She was sitting close beside Marcus and he was gently playing with her hair. It was like he couldn’t stop touching her, and he didn’t want to.
“The thing that made the trip so amazing was the fact that it was just the two of us,” Jade explained. “Don’t get me wrong, I missed Silas like crazy, but chasing after him on a cruise or dealing with a cranky baby would definitely ruin all the magic!”
“Zero stars,” Levi joked. “Would not recommend.”
“We’re thinking of going to Aspen next year,” Tanner was saying, but Marcus thought about his own travels over the years. He’d gone to conventions and conferences all over the world. London was nice but very rainy. Stonehenge left him uninspired. Sydney had been breathtaking, but the flight was almost a deal-breaker for him. He’d gone to Scotland and seen Edinburgh Castle and felt nothing.
Stateside he’d been to almost all the fifty states and while he had a pleasant enough time, nothing ever made him feel the way the Donovans clearly felt about their travel destinations.
Are they weird or is it me?
He had a strong feeling it was him.
