I hope she rots on those damn streets.
The club truck rumbles beneath me as I pull up to the gate, my knuckles white on the steering wheel.
Snow crunches under the tires, a reminder of why we've all switched to these bulky 4x4s.
No way in hell I'd risk my bike in this weather.
"Ripper!" I call out, leaning my head out the window. "Open up, it's fuckin’ freezing out here!"
I hear his cocky chuckle through the intercom before the gate starts to slide open. "Aww, what's wrong princess? Can't handle a little snow?"
"Fuck off," I growl, but there's no real heat behind it.
Ripper's an ass, but he's our ass.
As I drive through, I catch sight of him in the guardhouse, giving me a lazy salute.
His brown eyes dance with amusement, and I flip him off as I pass.
The clubhouse looms ahead, lights blazing against the darkening sky.
Music thumps from inside—the party's already started.
Great. Just what I need after the day I've had.
I park next to the garage, kill the engine, and sit for a moment.
My reflection stares back at me in the rearview mirror—hazel eyes ringed with exhaustion, a dark mess of brunette hair.
I look as exhausted and angry as I feel.
"Get it together, Siren," I mutter to myself. "It's just a party. You can do this. Maybe it’ll help take the edge off."
I climb out, boots crunching in the snow as I make my way to the clubhouse entrance.
The mat outside is already crusted with ice and dirt.
I stomp my feet, trying to shake off the worst of it.
As I reach for the door handle, it swings open.
A leggy blonde stumbles out, giggling, her hand planted firmly on a broad, tattooed chest.
Shiver's chest.
My stomach clenches, but before I can react, the blonde "trips."
Her shoulder slams into mine, hard enough to send me sprawling onto the icy ground.
"Oh!" she gasps, eyes wide with fake concern. "I'm so clumsy!"
I glare up at her, fury bubbling in my chest.
This bitch knew exactly what she was doing.
Shiver's gaze meets mine, a flicker of... something... in his eyes before it's replaced by his usual cocky smirk.
"Need a hand there, darlin'?" he drawls, reaching down.
