“About that. Right.” Sasha blushed furiously. “We haven’t really had time to talk about it, but you need to know that I wasn’t prepared to do this when I came here.” She gestured between Dagan and herself. “I mean, you know, I’m not taking anything.”Oh God, this is so embarrassing.
“I see. Some Caldorian women who are concerned about fertility insert special devices to keep the semen in its proper place. If you wish, I can procure one for you, although I really don’t think it will be necessary.”
“Yes, thank you,” Sasha said with relief, ready to move on to the next issue. “You know, we really don’t know anything about each other. I don’t even know your rank. And honestly,” she coughed and fidgeted, “I know you were probably only joking earlier, but you can’t just spank me. I’m a grown woman. Even my parents didn’t spank me. They spanked my brothers, but they never spanked me. You can’t do that. It would make me very angry.”
“That’s what you wanted to talk about?” Dagan grinned in relief. “You don’t want a spanking?” He was lightning fast. Before she had time to say anything more, he sat up and maneuvered her so that her ass was resting across his lap. He splayed one hand on her right buttock and the other hand held her upper body in place, with her cheek planted firmly on his cloak.
“Dagan, what are you doing?” Sasha yelled. She tried to get up but he was too strong and easily kept her in position.
“When you agreed to my claim, you agreed to my rights over you. I can, and I will, spank you if I feel you deserve the punishment,” he informed her, grinning in anticipation. “Now, stop moving around, and we can discuss your punishment for trying to break my claim without just cause. It is clear to me now that you need to experience things for yourself before you understand and believe in them.”
Sasha wiggled and squirmed, trying to get away. Her legs were free, but with Dagan’s hand holding her down, the only thing she accomplished by pushing with her legs was to put her ass up higher. “Don’t you dare spank me, Dagan,” she huffed.
Chapter Fifteen
“I mean it, Dagan! Don’t you dare spank me!”
“Now,” he continued calmly, “do you feel that you have been misled or slighted in any way since you agreed to my claim? Have I failed to honor you, protect you, or satisfy you in any manner?”
Sasha refused to answer.Smack! Smack! She hissed as a burning flame spread across her ass where his hand struck, first her right buttock, then the left. Tears of humiliation and pain sprang to her eyes. She couldn’t believe he was actually spanking her, and she screamed in outrage. She could feel his handprint across her ass. The feel of it would be burned into her memory long after the redness faded.
“You’re doing it right now,” she yelled, angry tears tracking down her cheeks. “I do not feel satisfied, or honored, or protected right now.”
“That is because you are being stubborn and you do not wish to acknowledge the wrong that you did,” Dagan growled.
“Me? What have I done except be human?” Sasha choked out through her tears.
“Yes, but you are aware that I amnothuman. Not from Earth. We do not touch others casually; therefore, we do not end touch casually, either. Surely you know that much, at least. Did you ever stop to think about how my people would perceive what you were trying to do? Most of them think you are purposely trying to end our relationship at our first public appearance. That only happens if something has gone horribly wrong. Did you stop to think about how it would make me feel?”
Sasha tried to push aside her anger and embarrassment at being spanked like a naughty little girl and focus on what Dagan was saying. How he felt? Is he crazy? It wasn’t like she’d caused a big scene and told him to go to Hades or anything. She would never try to embarrass him. How could he think that?
“I’m sorry if I hurt you,” she sniffed. “You keep thinking that I know things about Caldorian culture that I don’t know. Rachel and her sister are my best friends, but we’ve been out of touch lately. I don’t live near your base. The Caldorian base, I mean. I live over a thousand miles from here. The only thing I know about Caldorians is from the news, and I don’t watch much of that. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. I didn’t know it was a big deal. Humans don’t have anything like what you’re describing. At least, not where I come from. What you’re talking about is totally foreign to me. I love holding your hand. I do. But, I’m not used to people staring at me. I don’t like to be the center of attention. That was all. I wasn’t trying to break up with you.” Sasha paused, suddenly feeling even more awkward. Was he going to think she was fishing for the boyfriend/girlfriend talk?Oh, no. “Not that we’re a couple.” At Dagan’s thunderous look, Sasha tried to backtrack. “I-I mean, I know we’re just together for the week. I wasn’t trying to—”
“Stop right there,” Dagan said as he lifted his hand off her ass. “This discussion is not over, baby, but I have to answer this.”
Dagan tapped his earpiece before growling, “I’m in the middle of spanking my woman, Falden, so this better be good.”
“Yes, Your Majesty, I know. However, this couldn’t wait. We just got word that Vilitos has a freighter orbiting Caldor, dumping illegal debris all over the place.”
“Freighters try that shit all the time, so skip to the interesting part where you tell me what you think is really going on. I’m in no mood for guessing games.”
“Got it.” Falden took a deep breath and continued, “Initial reports are that the freighter appears to have a damaged air lock. Debris has been seen shooting out of it for the past two hours at regular intervals. All nonlethal, and so far it’s all bounced off our shields.”
“Okay. I assume they’ve sent out scouts, so what are you not telling me?” Dagan ran his fingers through his hair impatiently.
Falden continued grimly, “You’re right. It’s the dead animals that keep hitting our shields that’s got me worried. Some of those animals came from Earth.”
“Hold on a second,” Dagan commanded urgently.
Dagan gently rolled Sasha off his lap, gave her a quick kiss, and ordered her, “Stay exactly where you are, little one, or this spanking will be the least of your worries,” then rolled to his feet and walked several feet into the wooded area.
“Okay,” he said quietly. “Now you’ve got my attention. What the hell are they doing with animals on board in the first place? That’s against Intergalactic Trade Laws, not to mention Earth has a very strict ban on any kind of animal trade. Are you telling me someone’s selling them on the black market? How are they getting them out, damn it? Does Commander Bashall know anything about this?” Dagan pounded his fist against the nearest tree, grimacing as blood spurt from his scraped knuckles.
“Gareth and I were in the command center observing Bashall when the call came in,” Falden said just as quietly. “The man went fucking ballistic when they said animals were part of the debris. I’m sure he knew nothing about it before today. The man takes his position very seriously. We should consider bringing him into the fold with his brother.”
“We’ll have to table that discussion for later, but good to know. Now, what else can you tell me about that freighter?”
“Right,” continued Falden. “They’ve quarantined the freighter and invited the good captain down to Caldor for questioning. That’s all we know so far. This could be a simple case of black market trading or it could be a diversion for something else. Either way, security has been compromised. I don’t like the implications for Earth or Caldor, Your Majesty. I recommend returning to our ship immediately. Vander and Cassiel are nearby, ready to escort you and Sasha.”
