Poppy: Yeah, Lace. Did you stay dry? Because I’m dying to know what the fuck I just witnessed.

Gray: Wait, what did I miss?

Chloe: What happened?

Wren: Poppy, what did you just witness?

Poppy: I’ll let Lacey share with the group.

I walk out of my room to find Poppy sitting in our living room reading the book she started at the cabin.

“Where’s Logan?”

“He had to go help his mom with something.”

“Are you serious?” I ask, shaking my phone in her direction.

“AmIserious?” She marks her page. “Girl, areyouserious? What the fuck was that?”

“I don’t know.” I let out a long breath and make my way over to the couch. I sit opposite of her and let my face fall into my hands. “Did y’all see the whole thing?”

“Well, not everything,” she explains. “He shut the door pretty quickly after he kissed you.”

“It was hot, right?”

“Really hot.”

“What do you think it means?” My phone pings.

Gray: You really can’t leave us hanging like this.

Wren: I’m guessing that means you did in fact get wet?

Chloe: Is this some weird sexual innuendo?

Gray: Yeah, why does Wren keep asking if you got wet?

Poppy giggles at her phone.

“This isn’t funny. You interrupted us outside and then he barged in here like some sort of sex god and made me almost come on his leg with a fucking kiss.”

“You know, I feel like someone once told me that if a guy almost makes you come on his leg, clothed, then you should have sex with him ASAP.” She smirks. I equally love and hate her forusing my own words against me. I glare at her and my head falls onto the back of the sofa. “Come on, do it for the plot,” she laughs.

“But he left and like not to toot my own horn, but I know that kiss wasn’t bad. It was really fucking hot. So why did he leave?”

“Maybe he panicked?”

“You think?”

“What happened on the car ride here that led to that?”

“Nothing. I mean, we slept together last night and?—”

“Wait, you slept with him at the cabin?”

“Well, not like slept with him slept with him, but yeah, we shared my bed because his mattress sucked, and apparently Tanner snores.”

“Why am I just now finding out about this?”
