"The speed with which you looked away, Ember." Cam laughed, shaking his head, and my cheeks heated again.

"I haven't spent much time around shifters, and I was...startled."

"You looked startled alright," Micah joined in on the fun, and suddenly, we were all laughing like kids about something that wasn't that funny to begin with.

When we'd calmed down, I offered to cook dinner, and they jumped on it, though Cam had to go borrow some ingredients from his dads because they only had the basics. I was tempted tostock up their pantry, to take care of them since clearly neither of them cooked. Their refrigerator was full of Tupperwares of food, and while I was glad their dads were clearly keeping them fed, I wanted to be the one to do it.

I didn't think they had to learn to cook, because I was pretty sure they already did. Micah helped me without needing to ask, and he seemed to know his way around the kitchen. No, it was more that neither of them enjoyed cooking, not like I did. And since they had people in their lives who did and were happy to feed them, they weren't forced to anyway.

Once our bond was stronger, I'd make sure to cook for them everyday, to keep them healthy, their stomachs full, and their hearts happy. Nothing would give me greater pleasure.

Twenty-Two

Cam

That evening, it was Ember's turn to stay the night.

He'd made us an amazing meal, and I'd been tempted to ask him to move in with us simply so I could enjoy his cooking every day. What could I say? Food truly was the way to my heart.

When we paused outside the guest bedroom we'd offered to Ember, the air felt charged with something. Something new and exciting, warm and electric. I could tell Micah felt it too by the way his breath trembled with every exhale. I knew Micah better than I knew myself, and I was very familiar with the look in his eyes.

Since I knew there was no way Micah would ever put it into words, I did it for him, like always. You'd think it would be the other way around since Micah could read my thoughts, but no. I was the one who usually spoke for the both of us, and I knewMicah preferred it. He trusted me to speak for him, just like I trusted him to stop me if I got it wrong.

"Before you go in," I said as Ember reached for the doorknob, and he dropped his hand, turning to look at us. "Can we kiss you?"

Ember's eyes flared wide, the blue wavering as if his eyes truly were made of flames, and he glanced from me to Micah.

I nudged Micah with my elbow, and he blinked, coming out of whatever trance he'd been stuck in. "Please?" he added, his way of consenting to what I'd said.

"I'd never say no to that," Ember said in his warm, deep voice, and I grinned. Then, I pushed Micah forward, making him trip over his own foot and fall right into Ember's chest.

Ember caught him quickly, steadying him as Micah's palms pressed against his big chest, clinging on.

"Cam!" Micah hissed, his cheeks going pink, and Ember reached for him, cupping his cheek as he tilted Micah's face toward him.

"Are you okay?"

Micah visibly swallowed, a soft "Yes" escaping his lips, and I grinned as I watched them, my chest all warm and gooey. They looked good together. Sometimes, I still had a hard time believing they were both mine. How had I gotten so lucky?

"May I kiss you, Micah?" Ember asked again, and I was glad he did. I knew Micah would say yes, but it never hurt to ask.

"Yes, please."

It was interesting to see how different their dynamic was than Micah and me. With me, Micah was still sweet, but he was firmer, because he knew I needed to be kept in line or I would drive him crazy. Sure, I had to push his buttons sometimes—and I loved doing it—but when Micah lost his cool? It was magnificent.

In Ember's arms, Micah melted like putty, and my skin tingled as I watched them kiss, my dragon urging me to join them, to claim them as ours.

I held back, wanting them to have their moment. Micah had been so hesitant about finding Ember, and it made me happy to see them so close.

Micah pulled back from the kiss, his eyes darker than usual as he gazed up at Ember. Licking his lips, he took a step back and glanced at me.

What are you waiting for?

Grinning, I hurried over, and Ember pulled me close and into a kiss almost instantly. I could taste Micah on his lips, his favorite cherry lip balm, and it made me smile as I deepened the kiss, sliding my tongue into Ember's mouth. His big hands fell to my ass, and I moaned as he squeezed my asscheeks. His hands were so big. They'd feel amazing against my skin. I wanted to rip his clothes off right then and there, to run my hands over all of him, but I held back. I wanted our first time together to be all three of us, so I was going to be patient and wait for Micah to be ready.

I'm ready.

For a moment, I thought I'd imagined it, my need playing tricks on my mind. But no. That was Micah, speaking in my mind. Did he mean it?
