I swallowed every last drop, greedily milking him for every last drop. There was so much it spilled out around my lips, coating my chin.
Voraal’s breath rasped as he stroked my hair.
“Such a good little mate.” He purred as I cleaned off his cock with my tongue, then gripped my chin and forced my face up, kissing me hard.
I was still panting for breath when he picked me up and grabbed my clothes, cradling me in his arms as he carried me through the temple.
I had no sense of where we passed. My arms were wrapped around his neck, hands stroking his horns, my eyes solely for this monster I wanted to belong to.
The burble of water reached my awareness, and Voraal lowered me into a warm pool of water. It seemed to be made entirely of onyx, so deep I couldn’t see the bottom, and I clung to the side as Voraal stepped in.
He ran his hands over me, rinsing away the drops of come I hadn’t devoured, gently cleaning me off.
I relaxed against him, blissfully cradled against this monster as he ran a clawed thumb over my lips.
There was no sense of time in the temple. I could’ve spent hours there, until my fingers were pruned from the water, but Voraal finally pulled me from the bath. His shadows swept over me, wiping away the droplets beaded on my skin.
He kissed me again, sucking my lip between his fangs, but not biting down.
“You are everything I have waited for,” he whispered, gaze burning. “My good girl. My Juno.”
Chapter19
Juno
Ipulled my clothes back on, ignoring the rips in my leggings, and tied the torn front of my shirt back together.
It worked… for now. At the rate these monsters were going, I was going to have to start sleeping naked to avoid the rest of my clothes being shredded, or order off-island for new clothes before the month was up.
You will bind yourself to the Void, Voraal’s voice whispered in my head.
I suppressed a shiver of disquiet. Maybe the madness had finally gotten to me, but I was already planning on staying here as long as possible…
Forever, maybe.
I also instinctively knew that ‘forever’ was not a euphemism when it came to this island. It felt eternal, a dream-like madness that would never end.
Voraal watched me dress, his eyes blazing and content as he looked me over.
“I should have claimed you the moment you set foot on our territory,” he said, his shadows reaching out to lap at my skin again as though they couldn’t resist touching me.
I reached up to finger comb my wild hair into some semblance of order, and leaned back into the shadows that cradled me.
“I thought you thought I was too forward,” I confessed. “Or I would’ve tried earlier…”
The monster’s soft chuckle made goosebumps rise all over my body. Soft lips touched the shell of my ear as he spoke. “I wish I had known. I would have taken you as my mate the minute I laid eyes on you, but… we were warned that you would not understand us. That you might fear our presence.”
My eyes popped open again. “Warned by who, exactly?”
Voraal shook his head and tapped his lips. He couldn’t speak of them.
But I had a feeling I knew: the Lady of Dark Waters. How could she know so much about me—and I know nothing at all about her?
“I didn’t understand you at first, but I was never afraid of any of you.” I laughed, the sound echoing through the temple. “If anything,Ichasedyoudown.”
“And that is good.” Voraal’s gruff voice was muted as his lips brushed along my shoulder. “That is as it should be. You should never fear showing us your cravings.”
When I’d managed to tame my hair, he pulled me into his arms, leaving the beautiful bathing room behind.
