A life of always outrunning my past. A life of being fresh meat for our viewers to tear apart, shredded into pieces bit by bit.

I couldn’t allow that. I had finally shed the weight of that pain.

I absolutely had to bind myself to the monsters before the comet arrived… or I might lose them forever.

Chapter33

Juno

Icouldn’t wait for nightfall.

We’d lost so much time, and I hadn’t even realized it. What if fucking them twice wasn’t enough? What if the Void demanded more?

I locked my bedroom door and strode into the bathroom. It had no windows; I shoved a towel under the crack in the door, cutting off all the bloody red light of the comet.

It took me only moments to shed my clothes, stepping into the tiled shower and twisting the knob tohot.

Water came spraying out, and I let it puddle around my feet before I closed my eyes and focused.

“Zirin… if you’re there, please come.”

There was a tension in the air that hadn’t been there before when it came to the doors of the Void opening to me. Even the trip back from under the bed had felt different… almost gluey, like trying to push through an invisible film.

It took longer than I wanted before I felt the tiles fade beneath my feet, leaving nothing but that soft, springy darkness.

Tentacles slithered upwards, wrapping around me and pulling me through the resistance.

I gasped when the last bit of tension popped, my ears ringing. “What was that?”

Zirin cradled me on the surface of the sea, pushing my wet hair out of my face. The comet’s proximity is making it difficult to cross. But as for you… did you not get enough of us?

There was a teasing lilt to his voice. I slid my arms around his shoulders as he jetted away, heading towards his grotto.

“I’m afraid,” I whispered. “I lost three days of my world, and I didn’t even realize it. The comet will be here in a day, and what if… what if it wasn’t enough? What if I’m cut off from you forever, or I can’t—”

Hush, he told me firmly, one tentacle covering my lips and cutting off my babbling. You are here with me now. You have me, and there is nothing, not even an Elder God, who will part us.

I spoke against his tentacle. “But thebond. I can’t risk it not being enough.”

Anxiety welled in me. It seemed impossible that literally an hour ago, I’d experienced the most incredible bliss of my life.

Now I was on the verge of completely losing it.

Ipromiseyou, it will be enough. He let out a soft laugh, tentacles constricting around me.Believe me, little one, if you want to be fucked, you don’t even need to ask. I’m always ready to satisfy your desires.

A flush rose to my cheeks at the way he looked at me, his gaze running appreciatively over my form.

“It’s been a while since it was just you and me. The first time… you said we had all the time in the world. I want to make sure that’s true.”

Zirin’s eyes were growing dark again, his rings glimmering with scarlet.Every time I touch you, I feel the bonds between us deepen. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to ensure the truth of it.

The water shallowed around us as we swam into the grotto, the luminescent moss reflecting off his dark skin and making it shimmer with shades of violet and emerald.

He brought me to the bed of soft coral, tentacles swarming around me.Now, my lovely one, what do you crave?

“Anything you want. I just want to be here with you… and touch you. This isallI want right now.” I straddled him, my breasts squishing against his chest as I leaned in to kiss the sharp edge of his cheekbone.

Zirin tilted his head back, tentacles delicately sucking at my neck with tinypops as I grazed a trail of butterfly kisses to his mouth.
