“It’s disgusting that you’re doing this in my private space. Tell me why I shouldn’t have you fired right now.”
I scoff and then pull on my underwear and jeans. “I mean, areyou homophobic? Grossed out that I had my dick out in your chair and something up my ass?”
He narrows his gaze. “It has nothing to do with that. It’s unsanitary and a violation of my space. You should do that at home, not at a place of work.”
“Yeah, but you’re not here at this time usually, are you? You should be the one at home. So technically it’s my space.”
He huffs and then turns his gaze away as I pull on my shirt.
“Anyway, it doesn’t matter. I’ll clean this up and you’ll forget I was ever here.”
“You think it’s that simple?” he asks, his eyes narrowed to slits and okay, yeah, the guy is a little intimidating if I really let him be.
“I mean, yeah? And tell the truth. Is this really your office?” I ask this because he could be a creep off the street for all I know, though he does have this air about him. Arrogance and entitlement. Like he owns the place. Like he has more money than I’ll ever have in my entire life.
His lips purse and he raises his right eyebrow, “You must be joking.”
I cock my head the side and then shake it. “I’m not. For all I know, you just like to break into offices after closing. Hell, you could be a fellow camboy. Wanna collaborate? I am looking for a second. We could make a killing.” I waggle my eyebrows at him.
He doesn’t laugh. Or jump at the chance. “Of course not. I’m not gay first of all and second, I have standards.”
“I am the highest of standards.” I lift my chin. “The hottest camboy you’ll ever see.”
He rolls his eyes at me like I’m a petulant child, and while he is older than me, probably in his thirties, it doesn’t mean he’s better than me.
“I don’t fuck on camera,” he says, like that should have been clear from just looking at him. “And I don’t fuck men.”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it. You’re straight. No worries,” I say dryly as Iwalk over to my cleaning cart and toss my phone inside, getting ready to go about my business.
“You will not do this again.” His voice is deep and firm, sending a shiver throughout my entire body, but I square my shoulders and refuse to let him see it.
“Unless you’re going to tell my boss, I’d say you don’t have much of a say about what I do on my breaks.”
He looks almost murderous, but I will not back down. Just because I clean offices for a living and want to be a professional camboy does not mean he gets to treat me like dirt. I won’t stand for it.
“You should really look at the names on the buildings you clean,” he says, stepping closer to me and I frown.
Names?
I clean a lot of buildings to be honest. From six at night until two in the morning, I’m all over this city making buildings shine for the next day of work. Of course I know the names of the buildings when they hire me and give me the keys, but honestly they all blend together after a while. Just a bunch of corporate stooges.
I look back over at the desk and the name, Herold. It doesn’t ring a bell. He’s fucking with me.
“If you don’t mind, my break is over and I need to finish up here before I move on to the next building. If you’re not supposed to be here, you should leave,” I say this like I have the authority. Like I’m some kind of security guard.
I always lock the door behind me, so if he’s in the building I have to believe he has his own way in. It’s not my responsibility. He doesn’t say anything, but watches me intently as I wipe down his chair and desk and then grab the trash from the bin and vacuum the room.
I try not to look at him as I work, but he has the computer on and seems to be typing away. Okay so maybe this is his office and maybe he is this Heath Herold person.
So what?
Doesn’t matter to me.
I’ll never see him again. I can promise you that.
I finally get done in his office and leave, finishing up the rest of the building before I go outside, dumping the trash around the back of the building and locking the front door.
As I do this, I look up at the tall building, illuminated by the street light outside and all of the air leaves my lungs as my eyes widen.
