“Does that make you want to fuck me?”
With her sitting on the plank and her thighs spread, I closed the space between us. I took a long drag off the blunt and blew it into her face.
She breathed me in and then said, “It makes me want to give Romeo head.”
Chapter Two
Pippa
I checked my phone. First day of school and he was back to sending me messages. A few weeks ago, I’d blocked my professor’s number thinking that would be the end of his interest in rekindling our association for this semester. I could admit now, sleeping with him was more than a minor mistake.
“He needs to go away,” I said to my phone and blocked the new number.
Three texts from Hana pinged my phone. She’d gone from concerned to pissed back to concerned. She was going back to pissed when she realized I’d overslept. Blame Dozer. I’d had zero hours of sleep. Technically, I’d tossed and turned for the last two, but most of those were tainted by images of Dozer.
Once we’d gone back into the clubhouse, I hadn’t been able to get back into bed with Romeo. I’d stared at his sleeping profile. I’d never known a more beautiful man, open and fun, with no expectations. We were having uncomplicated sex. I needed a bit of uncomplicated in my life.
I had a feeling Dozer was going to be the complete opposite.
Like an enigma ghosting through my thoughts, Dozer balanced me on the edge of reason. He stoppedmy breath, made cracks in my light because he basked in darkness. With a single night and a few whispered words, he’d polluted the air I needed to breathe with daring wants.
My phone pinged again.
Hana: Blade is taking me to class. Please don’t be dead. TTYL
Crap.
Pip: Sorry.
Hana: Lunch in the Union Center?
I sent her the thumbs up emoji.
No time for a shower, no time for coffee, and no time to worry about how I looked. I grabbed my hobo bag, grabbed my keys, waved to the security camera in case Gabi was watching, and then I rushed into the garage.
It still seemed strange to live in my own space. No hovering mother, controlling father, or bitching sister. The bitching sister would be Claudia, not Gabi.
Gabriella had let me move into her house. Now that she lived with her fiancé, I had run of the three-bedroom, two-bathroom rambler. Not that it was a problem, but certainly an inconvenience, the house had a state-of-the-art security system. Twenty-four-hour surveillance.
Had I known, there wouldn’t be X-rated personal porn from the cameras on my sister’s cloud. My thoughts crashed into Dozer. He’d enjoy some of the more adventurous encounters. Ugh. I was in trouble.
I hauled ass to campus and was rewarded—that was sarcasm—with a parking spot ten minutes from the lecture hall. I ran in my canvas kicks, but Iwas still breathless and five minutes late to class as I searched for an empty seat.
There was a seat…next to a familiar pissed off girl. Levi lifted her backpack and set it in the empty chair next to her.
I made my walk of shame to the front of the class and sat directly in front of the professor. “Sorry,” I whispered, setting my backpack between my feet.
First assignment of the semester—get my shit together.
I tried to focus on expectations for general astronomy. I wasn’t all that interested in orbital gravity, distant galaxies, or the expanding universe. Not when my personal life seemed to be shrinking into the dark hole of sex, weed, and weekend binges.
Guilt warmed my chest, rose higher, and tightened my throat. I didn’t have to turn around to feel Levi’s stare drilling into the back of my head. Before last night, I wasn’t sure why she hated me, but considering the only two areas of friction, it would have to be Romeo or Dozer.
She had a reason to now. There were three men in her life. My best friend had Blade, and I had Romeo. And after last night, Dozer had me. I could feel the talons of his words digging into my chest and ripping it apart. He was going to crawl inside me because I wanted more of what he promised.
I thought I’d hidden my attraction for Dozer with my public displays of affection with Romeo. I’m sure that made me a skank. Except that I really liked Romeo.Likedbeing the highlight in that statement. I wasn’t catching hardcore feelings, but I was comfortable in our relationship.
He gave me lots of orgasms, and I didn’t get clingy.
