“Brielle.”
“What?” Taylor finally spoke up. “Brielle? Like our Brielle?”
“Beau just made the connection. It was in front of me the whole time. Her eyes. When I looked at the photos of Duke, his eyes looked so familiar. They were striking.”
The women were now soaked, standing in the rain. Edie dropped her head, thinking back on the warning of Brielle her brother had given her. “Has anyone seen or spoken to Brielle since she didn’t show to the Triple B meeting?” Edie asked.
Everyone shook their head no. “Okay. We’ve got a job to do here and then we find Brielle.” The women agreed. Taylor and Sammy began digging while Harley and Edie started walking the grounds.
After an hour of searching, Harley yelled out. “Guys! I found something!”
Taylor, Edie, and Sammy ran toward the sound of her voice. Harley had made it far into the woods. She was on her hands and knees underneath a large Sycamore tree. She was covered in mud. “What is it Harles?”
She tapped the ground beneath her fist and it sounded almost hollow. The women all got on their knees and began digging through the mud. It didn’t take long before the women found what had caused the ground to sound hollow. It was a coffin. They all looked at each other and shared an unspoken message. Sammy managed to crack the lid open. She lifted it and inside was what remained of a beautiful, green-eyed blonde.
