Zay had so many questions. “How the fuck are you associated with the Inferno Gods?”
My head snapped in his direction. “You know of them?”
“Blair, I’m a New York nigga through and through… you don’t think I know about the Gods, Reapers, or Bullies? How thefuck do you know em?” He relaxed, and just followed the Gods, allowing them to lead us where they were instructed to take me.
“It’s complicated.”
“Make it uncomplicated then.” He continued to drive, following behind Havoc as he led us to the Brooklyn bridge.
I rolled my window down to get more air, and that’s when I saw Kiki’s bike, and she saluted as she pushed forward, and Yasin zipped around the back of the car and took her spot. They were moving on Havoc’s word. Since Quasim or Quameer weren’t here, he was put as the lead, directing the Gods.
I took a deep breath. “I mess around with the head of the Inferno Gods.”
He paused to think, and then looked over at me. “That was King Inferno at the block party? Nigga leaned on the truck?”
I nodded my head slowly.
“You didn’t feel the need to fill me in on that shit right then and there, Blair?” He calmly replied.
“Are you alright?”
He laughed. “I’m straight… there ain’t no beef. Not when it’s clear the woman wants who she wants.”
“How you figure that?”
“Not stupid, B… I can tell that you were different when you came back from Bali. Just thought you would have been real with me.”
“I’m sorry, Zay. We were not even on speaking terms, and had some issues, so when I went, I didn’t think we would even talk. I’m sorry for leading you on.”
He smirked, as we continued to drive. “It’s clear he cares a lot about you… nigga got all these IG’s making sure I bring yo ass home.” If he only knew that he was the reason that the restaurant had to be evacuated.
We remained quiet as we entered Brooklyn, and we bent the blocks. “I’m going to kill him,” I whispered as we passed a block, and Brooklyn Reapers peeled the corner, mixing in with the Gods.
You would have thought I was the first lady with the way they surrounded the car. Luckily, since it was late, traffic wasn’t all that thick. Lia and Kincaid dapped each other as she hit a wheelie, and he followed behind her.
Kincaid wanted Lia – bad.
They continued to lead us through the blocks until we made it onto mine. Zay double parked in front of my building as I leaned back in my seat.
“So, what now?”
Zay looked straight ahead at the Gods and Reapers all pulling onto the block wherever they fit. “You feel the same way he does about you.” He assumed.
I couldn’t lie. “I love him.”
He looked over at me. “You should have love, B… I know your story and you deserve that shit.”
“Thank you. I feel bad, though.”
He laughed. “B, I’m fucking Zay… I think I’m going to be straight. This is the universe telling me that I need to focus on my career and stop chasing love. Didn’t take enough time after being with Grace and was trying to jump into something else.”
“Guess we both kind of messed up, huh?”
“Nah, your shit worse… got this man sending his whole gang to escort you fucking home.” He clowned me and I laughed.
“Zay take care of you. I know this life is overwhelming and not what you signed up for. Please promise that you’ll take care of you.”
“I got you, Blair.” He held his hand out, and I placed mine inside of his. “Promise me that you’ll take care of you… I ain’t even gotta question if he gonna do it. He got you.”
