Page 66 of Mensa's Match

Last night – and this morning – Mensa had relieved my stress in the most delicious way. Following my encounter in the leasing office, his magic had worn off.

“Jesus, you look ready to hurt somebody,” Mensa said when I walked inside.

“Violence doesn’t solve anything,” I muttered.

He grinned. “Don’t knock it, until you try it.”

“It wouldn’t be worth it on that lady.”

“How long before we have to leave to get the moving truck?” he asked.

I glanced at the microwave. “Is that time right?”

He pulled out his phone. “Yeah.”

“We have an hour.”

His expression was easy to read. Part calculating, part mischievous, part hungry.

The next thing I knew, he hauled me over his shoulder and spanked me hard. “Then it’s time to relax you again, Blume. Can’t have you all wound-up and shit.”

I laughed. “Put me down, Kenneth.”

“I’m gonna put you down, all right. Put you down on my face.”

If he weren’t so talented, I’d refuse, but Mensa had ruined me for other men. I couldn’t get enough of him.

“That sounds fun.”

“Yeah. Since we gotta be quick, you gotta do some work too, sucking me off.”

“Even better,” I murmured.

He put me on the bed and undid his belt. “Help your man out, and get naked.”

I did as ordered.

Chapter 16

Hiding Your Temper

Mensa

“You never shared thatnew information you mentioned on the phone last night,” Whitney said, handing Mensa a bottle of Sam Adam’s and sitting next to him on the couch.

He didn’t want to hide anything from her, but he was a big believer in the less she knew the better. However, a woman who once investigated crime for a living wasn’t going to accept being kept in the dark.

“I’ve been told that Dontrell’s son, Demetrius, has been ignoring the Miscreants and not just recently, but for nearly a year.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Same amount of time Donny’s been putting off Corrupt Chrome.”

“Yeah. There’s also a rumor that Corrupt Chrome goes out of their way to make in-roads with street gangs.”

“That’s hard to believe,” she muttered and sipped her beer.

He shrugged a shoulder. “Stranger things have been known to happen, but it would also give Corrupt Chrome more leverage over Dontrell.”

She shook her head. “But a group like the Miscreants can just move on to the next wayward teenager who wants to join.”
