Back in his own bed, Bodhi had a lot to think about, and all of it was… amazing.

Chapter 11

Sunday morning, Cooper didn’t seem to be able to make eye contact with Bodhi.

Bodhi, on the other hand, was more chipper than he’d been in years.

They’d found him in the kitchen with a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the ingredients for some pretty snazzy-looking omelets all chopped and ready to go. There was fresh orange juice on the table and a plate of Ivy’s muffins in the middle.

“I worked up quite an appetite last night,” he explained matter-of-factly. “I hope you two got a good night’s sleep. Omelet, anyone?” He stood before them poised with a pan in one hand and an egg in the other.

“Uh, sure. Thanks,” Ivy answered.

“Yeah, okay,” Cooper grumbled as he went to pour a couple mugs of coffee.

Turning out a perfect omelet, he divided it onto a couple of plates that he set in front of them. Then Bodhi announced, “Last night was great.” He regarded Cooper’s scarlet face and added, “No need to be embarrassed. It was your idea, you know.”

“Not you suck… not what you did to me! That wasn’t my idea,” Cooper spluttered.

“Chill, bro. I’m not going to call the sex police on you. You had some fun, so embrace it and get over it.” Bodhi looked at Ivy who studied her omelet like it might talk to her any minute. “Ivy liked it, didn’t you, honey?”

Ivy grabbed a lock of hair and twirled it absently. In a small voice she admitted, “Yes.” Then she looked at Cooper and added, “It was kind of amazing.”

Cooper’s face twisted. “The watching or the guy-on-guy shit?”

In a stronger voice she answered, “I loved watching Bodhi suck you off. I’ve never seen anything like that before.”

There, she admitted it, Bodhi thought. He grinned victoriously as she continued.

“I’d like to see more of it actually. Could you do it to Bodhi?”

“Jeezus!” Cooper hollered. He stood and marched out of the room as he heard Bodhi snickering behind him.

“Boners don’t lie, Cooper,” he called out. “You planning on taking care of that? I’ll be glad to come help.” Laughing, he turned to Ivy. “Our boy there seems to be a little turned on right now, and he doesn’t want to admit it.”

Ivy snorted and tried to look serious. It wasn’t working.

“I have a question for you, though, Ivy. You guys were using a condom when I saw you in the living room, and now you’re not. What gives?”

Ivy blushed and answered softly, “We used one that time because Cooper was afraid of making a mess on what he called ‘your precious couch.’ I’m on the pill though, so once he was tested, we quit using them for birth control.”

Nodding as though this all made good sense to him, Bodhi said, “Well, just so you know, I’m clean—in case you’re wondering.” He winked and grabbed the omelet he’d set in front of Cooper and set to downing it himself. “I’ll make him another one as soon as he’s donejacking off. It’s a shame to waste hot food.” He’d raised his voice on the words “jacking off” so Cooper could hear him from down the hall.

I should hate this, Cooper thought to himself. But, try as he might, he couldn’t deny the feelings he had. He’d often had to pull his eyes off Bodhi’s physique back when they played beach volleyball together. The memory of all of Bodhi’s golden charm was etched in Cooper’s memory. The strong, well-defined muscles, the tanned, smooth skin. It was all beautiful. But Bodhi’s face looked to Cooper like a fallen angel with those mischievous hazel eyes and his thick mop of blond hair. He had the most perfect dimple in his chin, and Cooper had wanted to touch it on more than one occasion. He remembered how Bodhi’s powerful legs would propel him into the air to spike a ball that Cooper had set up for him. And he remembered what Bodhi’s body looked like all stretched out reaching and leaping to make the spike. He was a sculpted work of art with his shorts riding low on his hips and his tanned abs and biceps stretching and flexing in the sunlight.

He thought of how, when they were done playing ball on the beach and hit the water, Bodhi would whoop with joy when he caught the perfect wave.

It all came crashing in on Cooper finally. He’d missed Bodhi as much or more than Ivy had.

He wanted to punish Bodhi for deserting him. Or rather them… desertingthem. That’s what hemeantto think.

He wanted Bodhi.

He didn’t want to want Bodhi.

Why did Bodhi have to come back and get in the middle of what I have with Ivy? It would have been so easy to just marry her and get on with our lives.
