My heart thumps in my chest as anticipation tears through me. I love looking at Liam’s body. At least the half of it I’ve seen naked before. And tonight’s no exception. As my hands roam over his muscular chest and shoulders down to his thick biceps, all I can think about it how beautiful he is.
Then I suddenly realize I touched where the bullet entered his arm and quickly pull my hand back toward me. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to just brush over your arm like that.”
Smiling, he lifts his right arm and moves it around to prove to me he’s fine. “No problem. That doctor was probably being extra careful because I feel one hundred percent. See?”
“Okay. I just wanted to be sure.”
“Is that the way I look at you?” he asks with a chuckle, thankfully changing the subject. “No wonder Drew caught me. I guess I should be happy very few people pay attention to me because if they did, they’d all know.”
My cheeks heat from a blush and I smile up at him. “Maybe.”
I move my hands down his body to begin removing his belt and pants. “Now no more talking about the two of us and our moony-eyes. I need to get you naked.”
“What about you?” he asks with such a tone of innocence that I have to tear my focus away from my job getting him undressed to see if he’s serious. I look up and see he’s absolutely for real. Clearly, Liam isn’t used to someone like me.
“Well, this dress I’m wearing offers easy access, but I’ve made it even easier by not wearing any underwear. You’re welcome, by the way.”
His blue eyes get wide in surprise, and I swear he looks downright sweet at this moment. “Really? I guess you had this all planned out. So we were never going out into the Quarter tonight?”
“Oh, yeah. I just figured we’d end up doing something like this in a dark alley way.”
Again, surprise makes his eyes open wide. He opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out, so I stand on my toes and kiss him. “Now let me get these pants off you or we’re never going to have any fun tonight.”
Liam pushes my hands away from his body and hurriedly unbuttons his pants. A few seconds later, he shoves them down his legs and kicks them away across the room. “Problem solved.”
He’s still partially dressed in his black boxer briefs and black socks, so I point at both and shake my head. “There is no way I can have sex with a man who’s wearing socks. Take them off.”
For a second, he looks like he’s going to protest, but then he bends down to slide them off his feet. Looking up at me with a wickedness in his eyes, he points at my dress. “Take it off. The first time we sleep together, I’m not doing it dark alley style.”
I giggle, loving how cute he can be. “Deal.”
By the time I slither out of my teeny-tiny black dress I had my personal shopper specially get for tonight, Liam is fully naked and staring at me with those moony-eyes I love. I doubt he loves my body as much as I love his as I stand there taking in every gorgeous inch of him. Damn, he’s like a Greek god chiseled out of the finest marble and all for me.
When he doesn’t make a move for a few seconds, a flash of insecurity takes over. My body isn’t anywhere as perfect as his. No matter how many workouts and routines Mitchell and Tiffany put me through, I never get my body into the shape Liam’s is in.
It’s why all my costumes are made to hide the softness of my abs and highlight my best part. My legs. The designers do an incredible job, but at this moment, I can’t hide behind sequins and a great dress.
“Better tell Mitchell I need more crunches, huh?” I mumble.
Liam shakes his head and steps toward me to cradle my face in his hands. Gazing down into my eyes, he smiles and I feel like my entire body is melting.
“No. You’re perfect just as you are. Don’t change a single thing.”
Oh. No one’s ever said that or anything close to that to me.
“I just thought that since you’re so built that you might have hoped I was.”
Again, he shakes his head. “I don’t want a woman who’s the female version of me. I like this version of you instead.”
I can’t help but close my eyes. He feels too close, too much surrounding me at this moment. How is it he’s single? He’s gorgeous, sweet, caring, and protective. And right now, his long, hard cock is pressing against the space between my hipbones and driving me wild. Women must be climbing over one another to get to him, yet here he is with me.
“What’s wrong, Mia?” he asks in a low voice.
Opening my eyes, I shake my head. “Nothing. Nothing at all.” I don’t know why, but I can’t stop myself from asking how it’s possible he’s single. “How is it you don’t have someone already?”
When he gives me one of those sexy smiles and subtly tilts his hips to press his body against mine, it’s like someone’s sucked all the air out of the room. I wait breathlessly for him to say something, and then he does, and it’s the best thing in the world.
“I do. You.”
