Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for her to settle and fall back to sleep. When I walk back in the living room, Logan is busy picking up the leftover toys that Piper left out much earlier in the day.

“You don’t have to do that.” I join him, picking up the last toy.

“No biggie. Piper okay?”

I wrap my arms around his waist. “She is.”

“Wonder what noise startled her?” He gives me a wicked look.

“Oh, stop.” I swat his chest. “That was your fault.”

Logan leans down and mumbles against my lips. “Didn’t hear you complaining,” he says before kissing me senseless again, his hard bulge pressing against me.

I’m pretty sure I’ll never complain when it comes to the things he does to me except when he pulls away and leaves me wanting more.

“I better get going. Before we wake Piper, again.”

A string of curses falls from his lips when I reach between us and cup his manhood. “But, I left you hanging.” And I’m losing all my common sense, playing with fire and ready to cross every line.

“Nothing a cold shower, and that pair of peach panties won’t solve when I get home.” Logan winks.

“I could...” I trace over the fabric of his pants again and lick my lips, “the bathroom down the hall, if you can be quiet, I can be quick.”

“Another time. We’ve been there before, and If I don’t go now, nothing quick will happen. I won’t be able to leave your bed until neither one of us can walk,” Logan confesses. “Trying to do the right thing.”

I wish he didn’t have a point. Plus, with our luck, we’re bound to be interrupted again.

“What does it say about me as a parent, if I’m contemplating scheduling a babysitter, literally so that we can do nothing but have sex?”

Logan stifles a laugh. “We’ll have plenty of time for that. Eventually.” He kisses my forehead. “Next time our friends want to take Piper for ice cream, I’ll give Smitty a fifty and tell him to keep her busy until I text him with an okay.”

My eyes widen. “Oh, God. No. No. No. Absolutely not. The last thing I need is Dylan or Zoey questioning me about our sex life or lack thereof, again.”

His brow quirks. “Again?”

I quickly shake my head. “Forget it. Really. Forget I said anything. And go, before I do something crazy. Like fall to my knees right here and attempt to suck you off in the middle of the living room.”

Wrapping his arms around me, Logan kisses me once more.

“Shit.” He winces and pulls back. “I needed to talk to you about something, and I almost forgot. I was waiting for Piper to go to bed and then…” He lets out a sigh and runs his hand over his face.

“Uhm, okay. Is this a bad thing? Should I be worried?”

“Fuck. No. It’s not. I just, the Marines. My two weeks are coming up.”

“Oh!” I visibly relax. “That’s it? Jeez, way to scare me, dork.”

Logan pinches the bridge of his nose. “It’s stupid. I know. I meant to tell you earlier, then there was never really a good time, and I didn’t know how or even if you’d want to tell Piper. And, shit. Now she’s asleep, and I’m going to be gone for two weeks with little to no communication most likely.”

“Okay.”

“Okay?”

“Logan, it’s fine. Seriously. It’s for two weeks. I’m sure we’ll see you again before you head out, right? And once you leave, I’ll tell Piper you’re busy when she asks and that we’ll see you again soon. I can handle two weeks.”

“I head out October fourth, about three weeks from now. I switched shifts with some of the guys at work, taking a few extra since they’ll be picking up the slack for me. We still have time. If I didn’t tell you, I would have forgotten. It's been a while since I’ve been in a relationship, and I tend to forget that whole communication part. Especially about stuff like this. I’m used to just doing me.”

“Oh, we’re in a relationship now?” I tease.
