She completes every one of us. As soon as this shit is done and over with, I'm going to tie her to my bed and tease her with my knife until she begs me to fuck her.

I clear my mind and focus back on my duties. I’m supposed to go back to the car to meet up with Kyler now, but I need to make sure Callie and Seb are okay, so I hang back. The place is locked and loaded, and they shouldn’t be too far behind. If Seb gives me shit for waiting, I’ll take it. I don’t care.

I go to the tree line to watch from a distance, and the front door opens less than five minutes later. I see Damien pulling Callie outside and start walking toward them to help her, but I pause when I see her put her kickboxing skills to good use. She is a work of art. The way she holds her own, keeping him off of her long enough for Sebastian to inject him with the drug, makes me so proud.

I run over to them, eager to get this over with, and Callie smiles. Seb scowls while instructing me to help him with Damien, so I grab the guy's arm and wrap it around my neck.

We walk as quickly as we possibly can, knowing we are working with limited time. If we take too long, we risk someone finding a way out of the building. We don't know if they're still fighting one another, and I regret not tapping into their cameras.

"We need to hurry," I say like they don't already know.

We pick up the pace, almost at a sprint now, and make good time to get where we need to be. We cross another tree, and I feel confident we are safely out of range of the bombs, so I stop. Seb and I drop Damien to the ground, and I try my best to catch my breath. Pulling out my phone, I click open the app that I’ve connected with the bombs before looking over at Callie.

"Do you want to do the honors, princess?"

She looks up with wide eyes before she grabs the phone from my hands. She stares down at it before briefly looking back in the direction of Rogue. We can't see the compound anymore, but I can sense her turmoil.

"They deserve it. They're going to keep hurting people. You know this is the only way to move forward," I reassure her.

"What if they can change? I don't know if I can do this. They can't all be bad."

"Callie, every single one of those men knew what they were doing. Did any of them stand up for you or try to changethings at the trial? They were going to let you either be killed or leave you at the hands of Damien again."

“He’s right, trouble. They didn’t give a shit about your fate. You shouldn’t care about theirs,” Seb says.

She looks from him to me and to the phone again, still hesitating.

"We don't have time for this. Do it, or I will," Seb says, and she glares at him. He nods at her for encouragement before finally saying, "Show them how strong you are."

Her finger comes up, and she slides the button across the phone. A bright light flashes in the sky over the trees, and a moment later, we hear a loud 'boom.’ The ground shakes below us, and Callie looks up. We stand here like this for a minute, watching as smoke fills the sky.

Callie takes a deep breath before dropping the phone with a shaky hand. I close the distance between us, knowing she needs something to help calm her thoughts, and push her into a nearby tree. I smile when her back hits the bark, making her wince.

My lips crash onto hers, and I tangle my fingers into her hair, pulling her head back. She groans in my mouth, biting down on my bottom lip. This girl is perfect. I press my body tightly against hers and wrap my fingers around her delicate throat, with my thumb rubbing up and down her pulse point as our tongues fight for dominance in each other's mouths.

Seb clears his throat behind us, and I reluctantly break away from her to look over my shoulder and see him standing therewith his arms crossed. "Our girl needs to be punished for hesitating. Are you going to help me or not?" I try.

"She can be punished when we get back to the house. We need to get out of here before the cops show up. We also need to confirm with Kyler that nothing looked suspicious when he flew the drone over."

I hate that he's right. I turn back to her and plant one last kiss on her lips, freeing my hand from her neck and reaching down to tweak her nipple, before I pull back.

"I promise I'll take care of you when we're safe, princess."

"I'm holding you to that." She glares at me, straightening herself out and walking over to Seb.

I lean down to grab the phone, pocketing it before Seb and I grab hold of Damien again and continue our walk with Callie leading the way. When we get close to the edge of the woods. She breaks out into a sprint, likely running to Kyler or Avery.

Chapter 43

Avery

Kyler and I wait at the edge of the woods, next to the car, watching the flames deep within the trees. As soon as the bombs went off, he pulled out some sort of drone connected to an app on his phone with video footage to check the scene. From what I saw on the screen, everything is decimated.

It all seems to be contained in the area behind the walls of the compound. Someone looking at it from where we stand would have no idea that it’s anything besides a wildfire. I'm sure the authorities will be here to investigate the smoke soon.

He didn't have the drone out for long because it couldn’t fly directly over the compound due to the heat. The camera angle and zoom on it were enough for us to confirm there was no movement and nobody got out alive. Kyler did three full circles around the area as further confirmation.

I should feel bad for the people that died, but I don't. If they were part of Rogue, they deserved it. If anything, they got off easy with the quick death, and I hate that I even have thoughts like this because I'm not usually a violent person.
