It's Trip that gasps out. "You’re delusional if you think things are going to get easier, Jay.”
"None of us are naive enough to believe life will be easy facing off with my dad,” Grant replies, his voice low and grim. Without looking I know that his brows are most likely furrowed as he sinks deep into thought.
Jason sighs. "Should we be bracing ourselves for when Garry tries to get us kicked out of Groveton before graduation?"
Grant doesn’t answer right away. He considers the question, looking at it from all angles. Had he thought this hard when he considered telling us about his forced engagement? I push the thought away before bitterness can sour my mood.
After a long pause, Grant answers, "If he manages that, we'll finish up online."
My stomach sinks. They’resoclose to getting their degrees, to be set back now would suck. And while Jason may be done with schoolwork, he still has a residency to complete. And whatabout Trip? He may not be in school, but his father was beholden to Garry too. With all this in the works, what will happen to Baniker Carpentry? Speaking of Trip... I suck on his dick hard, causing him to flinch.
"Damn it, dollface!"
I giggle around him which causes him to swear again.
"We're here," Jason calls back to us from the passenger seat.
Trip's hand disappears from the back of my head, but I don't stop. In fact, I reach forward, dig my hand into his pants and fondle his balls. As Grant turns onto the dirt driveway, the bouncing of the truck sends Trip further into my throat. I choke and gag but don't release Trip. He swears violently before cumming hard.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, you're going to turn me inside out," Trip groans weakly as he sinks deep into his seat.
I swallow everything before slowly lapping up the mess that covers his deflating cock. He flinches, overly sensitive from the multiple orgasms. Smirking, I take my time. When I'm done and sit up, he glares weakly at me.
"You're trouble, dollface." His hand reaches out to grip the back of my neck. The biting grip only causes my nipples to tighten and sends a delightful thrill of excitement down my spine. My heart skips a beat as he glares at me. Trip must see how he affects me because he rolls his eyes with begrudged amusement before jerking me forward to kiss me thoroughly. "But the best kind of it."
I grin as the others laugh from the front of the cab.
Like we had on Tuesday night, Grant rounds the side of the house and we head back to the other side of the property. When we get to the section dedicated to the Nani's and Carlos, I find Kai on a grill out on that floating deck in the middle of the pond. Behind him, Carlos sits at the picnic table. Despite their backs facing us, I can tell they’re conversing.Carlos throws his back and laughs as Kai’s shoulders shake.
"You should've stopped so I could've picked something up," I mutter as we come to a stop.
"No one is expecting you to bring anything. This is their way of thanking us," Jason says. He hops out of the truck and comes to open my door. As I take his hand and slip out of the back he adds, "And given that they don't havemuch,we're going to let them treat us to dinner, ok?"
There's nothing I can say to that, so I just nod.
He leans down and kisses my cheek. "I don't think I've said this enough so I’m going to say it again—thank you. Setting up a safe place on our land while we start renovating and building up the rest of the ranch was soobviousbut, for whatever reason, we didn't even think of it."
My heart flutters as he wraps an arm around my shoulders. The megawatt smile he gives me causes his eyes to twinkle in the setting sun. Loving his attention, I lean into him.
Jason guides me toward the house he'd taken his family into the night before with Trip and Grant right behind us.
"What are you going to do about your residency?” I ask him. “I doubt Garry will let you do it on his ranch if he thinks you’re conspiring against him.”
Jason hums thoughtfully, his arm tightening around my shoulders as he pulls me closer.
"I reached out to Dr. Hambre to see about a possible residency option with her, or if she knows anyone open to taking me in. I'm just waiting to hear back. If that doesn't pan out, I'll reach out to a few places a little further away. It's not the end of the world."
We approach the door to the Nani’s house. Rather than knock, Jason opens it, and we step inside. The new house smell, consisting of fresh paint, new floors, and cleaningproducts, hits me. Arched hallway entrances are a nice touch, as are the smaller details like wainscoting and crown molding. Their furniture has been moved in and now that the space is full, there’s less echo.
It feels like home.
Luane stops what she’s doing in the kitchen with a delighted squeal. She rounds the island and bustles over to us.
"It's my favorite child!" she squeals, approaching us with open arms. Jason chuckles, dropping his arm away from my shoulders to embrace her but she swoops under his outstretched arms and wraps me up in a large bear hug. I laugh as I return the hug.
Jason shakes his head in mock disappointment. “I’ve been replaced.”
"Um, I'm pretty sure that wasmytitle," Trip complains, pushing me aside to wrap his arms around Jason's mom.
