“Good. Until confirmation is made, we go about business as usual.”
“What about Leandro’s funeral?” Nico asked.
I took a deep breath, allowing Havros to answer. “When our parents arrive, likely a few days from now. We will let everyone know.”
“In the meantime, since we don’t know what we are dealing with, security is at a top priority,” Christos added.
“Including the estates,” Atticus told them.
The sudden ring of my phone was irritating as hell. I’d instructed the men guarding the estate not to bother me unless there was an attack or another emergency.
Havros narrowed his eyes as soon as I pulled out my phone and glanced at the screen.
Gregory.
I quickly moved out of the room back onto the deck. “Greg.”
“Yeah, I’m not certain why I’m bothering to call.”
“Then why are you?” I tried to keep any animosity out of my tone, but his was so agitated I had difficulty. But there was something else wrong. I felt it in my gut.
“Is my niece safe?”
“Of course. I’m a man of my word.”
He laughed bitterly. “And my nephew?”
“He contacted Willow.” I had no intention of telling him any details. Willow had also told me her brother had sounded terrified. That was surprising, but could be an act.
“That means he’s alive.” Relief flooded his voice.
“For now.”
“Leandro’s funeral?”
“A few days.” Why was he calling me? Not to check in. That much was easy to decipher. “Greg, I’m in the middle of a meeting.”
“Yeah, I guess you have some things to do. You need to know something though.”
“What is that?” I noticed Nico rushing through the others, racing out onto the deck. I put out my hand. Whatever Greg had to say, I needed to hear.
“I don’t think my brother is the man I thought him to be.”
Nico continued to come forward, shaking his head. I placed my hand over the phone. “What is it?” The information Greg had just told me registered but without details, it was impossible to have any clue where he was going with his admittance.
“I’m sorry to bother you, Dimitrios, but we have an issue. Willow is missing.”
“What do you mean missing?”
“Gone from the house.”
I sucked in my breath. “Greg. I’ll call you back later.”
