“It’s okay,” Rose said, rising from her seat to greet her husband.

She didn’t cast another look in Raz’s direction as she strode past him. Raz turned to look at Trevor. He was smiling at his wife. If Raz didn’t know the truth, he’d think the man was inlove with her. But he did know the truth. Which only made him angrier as he watched the expression on Trevor’s face.

“Let’s go eat,” Trevor told her.

Rose followed Trevor away from the lounge area. When she reached for her husband’s hand, Trevor looked back and saw Raz watching him. Trevor shoved his hands into his pockets to avoid his soon-to-be ex-wife’s grasp.

Rose had to speed walk in her heels to keep up with him. When she almost tripped, Trevor kept walking, not bothering to stop and check on her.Damn, he couldn’t wait to kill that stupid motherfucker.

Raz took a step forward, wanting to help her. He was too late. She’d already smoothed down her dress that had risen a bit, and was once again following Trevor. Raz watched Rose’s hips sway from left to right as she strutted away from him.Damn, he couldn’t wait to fuck that sexy motherfucker.

“You’ll belong to me soon, Monique Rose. As soon as you sign that contract, you’re mine. I want you to smile at me the way you just smiled at that bastard.”

What would his brothers say if they learned that Orazio Cattaneo’s cold heart began to thaw that night, all because of a smile and a contract? But what Orazio didn’t know was that it would be that same smile and contract that made Monique’s heart turn to ice.

Dangerous Contract:

PART ONE

––––––––

If she hadn't smiled at him, maybe he would've been able to resist her.

No, that's not true. It wasn't only her smile that called to him. It was her eyes, her curves, her voice, everything about Monique Rose makes crime boss, Orazio Cattaneo, want to possess her. When the skittish divorcee flirts with him after a dare from her friends, he decides he must have her then & there. What Orazio wants, Orazio gets. And he wants a taste of Rose.

But he didn't expect to become addicted after one taste.

MONIQUE

––––––––

Divorced.

I’m divorced. I’m a divorcee. I’m no longer married.

Monique Rose held in her sigh. No matter how she said it, it all meant the same thing: her marriage had failed. And tonight, if she ran into any of her old college friends, the first thing they would ask her was,“Are you and your college sweetheart still together?”

Bitch, does it look like it?

Bitch, does it matter?

Bitch, why?

Maybe if she left the bitch part off, one of those responses would work. Who was she kidding? None of those would work. She was the polite, sweet, and always considerate of others’ feelings, Monique Rose. Saying what was on her mind wasn’t what people expected from her.

If she had a grievance, they expected her to grin and bear it. If someone said something to upset her, they expected her to turnthe other cheek and pretend it hadn’t happened. So, tonight, she’d do what she’d done all her life.

She’d smile and pretend all was right in her world. And when orifshe was asked about her marriage, she’d say,“Marriage is beautiful. But even beauty fades. In the end, it hadn’t worked out, but we’re still friends.”

Which was a lie. She and her ex-husband were not friends. She hated him. She loathed him. If he were to fall down, choking in front of her, she’d step over him and pretend she’d never seen him fall.

Ugh!Why was she thinking about him at all? Tonight was all about her. Tonight was about her beginning the next stage of her life. What better way to usher in that new phase than with a ladies’ night with her two besties?

This would be her first girls’ night out in years. Sure, it had already gotten off to a rocky start. And she’d cried two times in the bathroom already. That didn’t mean it wouldn’t end on a high note. She really needed it to end on a high note.
