After finding an outfit for both of us, we went back to the kitchen to see Remy dressed in a blue, button-down shirt and black jeans. He stared at me, his eyes scanning my body as he gave a low whistle.

“Is it too forward to say that you look sexy in that dress?”

“Oh, this old thing,” I said and giggled. I was glad I did pick out the black, low-cut minidress which accentuated my legs and butt.

“Yeah, from my closet,” Chandra mumbled. “But, who is really throwing this party?”

“It’s a guy I met at the mall. He seemed cool, so I figured I’d go.”

“You don’t even know this guy and you want to go to his party? You don’t know what could be at this party.”

“Sis, live a little. Besides, Jasper’s going too.”

“Like that make a difference.”

“As long as we stick together, then there shouldn’t be a problem,” I mentioned.

“We’ll see,” Chandra said while throwing her keys at Remy. “You’re driving.”

“I know. Let’s go have some fun.”

He let me walk out ahead of him, as we went to Chandra’s car. Jasper was already waiting by the car as he waited for Remy to unlock the doors. Instead of me sitting with Chandra in the back, Remy wanted me to sit in the front, which had Chandra playfully rolling her eyes.

As we drove to the party, we all made small talk about the summer, the weather, and our plans for college. I noticed Remy was steady taking glances at me while he was driving, which made me smile, but he needed to keep his eyes on the road.

We finally made it to the venue as we went inside. Chandra mouthed that she was getting a drink, and she and Jasper walked away, leaving me and Remy standing by the entrance.

“I guess we should find somewhere to talk,” Remy said.

“You wouldn’t want to dance?”

“Oh, trust me, I’ll get you out there to dance, but I want to get to know you better.”

“I want to with you too.”

“Why, because you think I’m fine?”

I giggled. “Obviously, you think I’m cute.”

“You’re more than cute, baby. You’re sexy. But seriously, I want to know everything about you. Your dreams, ambitions…”

“Everything?”

“Everything.”

“Okay, well, I’m currently at UAC for journalism. I’m not sure which route I would like to take, but it’s something that’s keeping me interested right now.”

“Cool. I’m majoring in business. I want to be an entrepreneur and not have to work for anyone.”

“I heard that.”

“Why don’t you?”

“Because there are a lot of things that I’m sorting out in my life.”

“Like what?”

“Personal things.”
