“Does Chandra know that you bought Oxford?”

“I don’t tell my sister everything. She surely didn’t when she was still talking to you.”

Porsha nodded. “Understandable.”

“But she, along with everyone else, will know about it once it goes into the papers. Unless you’ll tell her.”

“I might.”

“I know you will. Anyway, that’s not why I asked you to come here.”

“Then, what is it?”

“I see that you are the newest employee with Oxford, congratulations, by the way. I knew you’d get your dream job in publishing.”

“Thank you.”

“This won’t be awkward, will it? Me being your boss.” I stared at her, studying her expression as she gave a coy smile.

“Why would it be? As long as I do my job, then there shouldn’t be any issues, right?”

“No, it shouldn’t.”

“Would it be weird for you seeing me every day?”

“No, it wouldn’t. You’re just an employee to me. Nothing more, nothing less.”

I could tell she was a little hurt by that, but what did she expect?

“I guess since we’re both new to the company, we’ll be learning things together about the industry.”

“If you expect me to help you with that, then that’s out of the question.”

“You will if you want to keep your job.”

She stared at me while I gave her a heated look. “I’m your boss, so whatever I say goes. If you don’t like it, then you can seek employment elsewhere; but from what I know about your recent prospects, this was the only place that would give you a chance. Am I right?” I knew I hit a nerve with her as she rolled her eyes.

“Whatever, Remy.”

“It’s Mr. Delgado so, please, address me as such.”

“Whatever, Mr. Delgado,” Porsha said while walking to the door.

“Keep up with that attitude, and you’ll be gone sooner than you think.”

She stopped walking and turned to stare at me. “And the attitude you’re giving me now, I wouldn’t want to work for your pompous ass.”

“Then, there’s the door, Ms. Baxter. Please don’t let it hit that ass of yours on the way out. Which I have to admit, does look good in that dress you’re wearing.”

“You ass…”

“Goodbye, Ms. Baxter. I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again soon.”

“I hope not.”

“Oh, we will.”

She sighed before walking out. I sat down on the desk and gave a sigh of my own. Damn, she’s sexy! I didn’t know how I was going to work with her when all I wanted to do was kiss her. Even though she left me without a damn trace before, I was glad that she’s back in my life now. Even if it was just as my employee.
