Even though every fiber of my being screams to take her then and there, I need to hear her say she wants this as much as I do, that our connection is as real to her as it is to me.

"I’m ready for you. More than anything."

With her affirmation, I push into her heated core. An incredible warmth envelops me. "Fuck, Tahani," I gasp, my hips moving in rhythm with hers.

We find our intoxicatingly new but familiar tempo. Each thrust brigns me closer to the edge, closer to going insane.

"Archer," she moans my name like a prayer, her nails digging into my shoulders. The pain only serves to heighten my pleasure.

"Don't hold back," I urge, feeling my own climax building like a tidal wave. "Come for me, Tahani."

I watch her shatter, her body tensing and shaking beneath me. I’m swept away by the intensity of our connection.

"Archer," she whispers as her body trembles with the aftershocks of her climax.

Her soft skin clings to mine, creating a cocoon of intimacy. The taste of her lips linger on my tongue, sweet and intoxicating like the finest wine.

"I've never felt this way before," I admit as I trace the curve of her cheek with the pad of my thumb, delighting in the smoothness of her skin.

"Neither have I," she replies, her eyes shimmering. "But this connection…it scares me. What does this mean for us, Archer?"

I tightened my arms around her, pulling her closer to me. "It means you’re mine, and you have nothing to fear. I will never hurt you, violate your trust, or disrespect you in any way. We're in this together."

"Are you sure?" she asks, her gaze searching my face for any hint of doubt. "Because you don’t have to make a post-sex commitment that will fade once we’re out of bed. And I don't want this to be just another conquest for you, Archer. I need to know that you're in it for the long haul if that’s what we’re doing."

"Post-sex commitment? Fade? Conquest?" My stomach twists at the thought. "Tahani, believe me when I say that you are anything but a conquest to me, and this is not a post-sex commitment that will fade. You've knocked down walls I didn't even know I had, and I want nothing more than to build something real with you."

After a brief moment of searching my eyes, she says, “I hear you, and I believe you, Archer. But what will we do about the power dynamics between us? I've worked hard to be where I am, and I can't let anything compromise my position."

"Is that what you're worried about?" I ask gently, reaching up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "Tahani, listen to me. The love I feel for you has nothing to do with power or control. My world doesn't revolve around those things anymore – not when it comes to you."

"But Archer," her voice trembles, "the consequences... If people find out about our affair, my career could be jeopardized. And your reputation. You could become known for the guy that sleeps with his subordinates and picks favorites. I don't want to ruin your reputation either."

"Hey," I say softly, turning her face towards mine. "We'll handle this together. Whatever happens, we'll find a solution.”

"Can you really promise me that?" Tahani asks, her eyes searching mine for reassurance.

"Absolutely. If I can’t improve your life, I will leave you alone. It’s that simple.” I reply without hesitation. "I'll stand by you, through thick and thin, Tahani. We'll navigate these challenges as a team because I refuse to let you go."

As we hold each other tightly, the muscles in Tahani's shoulders loosen. Her breathing slows, and her body relaxes into mine. I feel an overwhelming desire to protect her, to shield her from the world's harshness and judgements. For Tahani, I will do anything.

"Okay, I trust you," she finally replies.

"Good. We have to get into the office and face the rest of the day together." I help her out of bed, our hands clasped tightly.

It’s afternoon, but just as fiercely as we just devoured each other in my bed, we have to go just as hard to accomplish our goals in the office.

"Do we have to go in?" Tahani pouts, her eyes searching mine for a glimmer of agreement.

Our responsibilities hang over our heads, threatening to overshadow the beauty of this moment.

"We could take the day off," I offer, "but there will be two mountains of work for us tomorrow. You don't want that, do you?"

Her gaze falls, defeated. "No."

I pull her closer, wrapping her in a comforting embrace. "So, let's go."

"Okay," she agrees, giving me a soft smile. "But if you want to get dressed and go to work, why are you holding me like this?"
