I caught myself to keep from crushing her with a jarring ache in my chest and collar. The fall didn't stop her from kissing me once we landed. “Be careful. I almost hurt you.”

She wrapped her legs around my waist. “I do what I want—including you.”

“Noted.” If only she knew how tempting she was. I fell out of her. However, it wouldn’t take much inspiration to be inside her again. To take her on my office floor. I remembered how flexible she was. The satisfying sounds she made when she came with her ankles on my shoulders.

Shimmatta, how was I going to get any work done today?

Her brow furrowed briefly as she stared up at me and made a languorous sigh. “I have to get to work.”

“Me too.” I kissed the side of her mouth.

She released me.

“Time to get up, lover boy. There’s no way we could stay here past seven and not stir up gossip.”

“Fine.” I stood and offered her my hand.

She accepted and righted her clothing and hair. “How do I look?”

“Satiated.”

She playfully smacked my shoulder. “If you have jokes, then I must be suitable.”

“You look beautiful.” She was more than suitable. She was perfect and had a date withanother manon Friday. I already agreed that she could have the day off. Taking it away would set us back. I wanted more of her, not less. I'd have to come up with something.

“Thanks. I'll see you at this afternoon's staff meeting.”

She gave me a peck on the side of my mouth then I watched her gentle swaying ass leave the office without her Cafebucks. I guess I owed her tea and a scone for distracting her. I knew just how to pay her back.

Ring. Ring.

“Fubar Eatsis here,” I announced. I handed my karaoke mic to Brookelynn.

My backup singer immediately stepped into the headliner role as she finished serenading her brother with the baby shark song he requested for the third time.

“Mama shark doo—”

I was glad for the brief reprieve. Brookelynn and MJ were good kids, but they could sometimes be a handful.

Keeping them entertained was challenging, but I promised them we would hang out on the last day of spring break before they went to part two of their Easter family weekend. Marcus and Brooke would pick them up on the way to the airport. Then it was curling up with a book and chill.

But first, lunch.

I threw open my door, ready for the cheesy, meaty goodness of a gooey Pizza Shack pie and breadsticks. There wasn’t aFubar Eatsdriver. Not unless Ryu Tsuki, who had way more money than I could fathom, moonlighted.

He held a drink tray and white Cafebucks bag that smelled suspiciously like brownies. “I was in the area when I remembered you didn't get to enjoy your scone and tea yesterday.”

Wow. “This is—sorry, but I'm—“
