“Yes, it is, Judy-Lynn. You’re the project manager. I thought it was obvious that I trusted you to handle these decisions.”
She pressed her lips together in a tight line. It's hard to believe she was the same woman I battled at Dani Bond trivia and was an inventive minx in bed. There was no sign of Jaelle anywhere within her.
“Is there anything else that you wish to discuss?” Hopefully, she would get the message and leave me in peace—anything to release the tightness in my balls without taking her across my desk.
Judy-Lynn stood hugging the tablet to her chest. “Do you have a problem with me, Mr. Tsuki?”
That was just wrong, especially from her. “Ryu.”
“Tsuki.”
I stood with my palms on my desk. She met my gaze.
“I take that a yes,” she said.
“Ryu,” I corrected, “And not at the moment, but the day is still young.”
“Then why are you so stand-offish? You gave me the job. I'm good, but you are trying to sabotage me at every turn?” She stepped closer to my desk. “I respectfully want to know why.”
And the sexy, aggressive version popped out of her. Just like that. How did I not notice someone like her? “I always wanted to release Amber on both platforms. However, with the previous project manager, it wasn't possible.”
She clamped her mouth shut then a sexy smirk spread across her face. “Then I guess we better get ready to blow Aroma and the Golden Pen out of the water. Have a good day, Ryu Tsuki. I shall leave you to your important decisions that provide our company the capital to destroy the competition.”
She read my mind. “Go big or go home.”
Judy-Lynn winked. “Oh, I intend to.”
She turned on her heel and then left my office.
Still hard through the entire scenario, I sat in my chair. In the time she was there, I got two glimpses of Jaelle. They were very much one and the same. Competition brought out the sex pot that I spent the weekend with.
Duly noted.
CHAPTER 9
Judy-Lynn
“Y
ou're in a good mood.” Daisy fell in step with me as I walked past the conference room.
“This is the face of success. I'm enjoying being a badassoutof my cosplay. I like it.”
She shrugged. “You've always been a badass.”
Behind the conference room’s transparent walls, Pat in Programming conducted a meeting or a brainstorming session. “I didn't always feel like it.”
The Programming department was going to be the most annoyed when I let them know that they had to get the Robot platform up. Most of the team were diehard Fruity developers. I would have to listen to at least one of them lecture about how the Fruity OS was more elegant, yadda yadda.
“That's what happens when you have a weekend of orgasms and receive a promotion.” She shivered. “I must not be living right.”
I thumped her on the shoulder. “You have a boyfriend, and you got a promotion too. Every day should include an orgasm.”
Daisy frowned. “Yeah, except me and Luke are over.”
I stopped, and she kept walking. “Do you—?”
She shook her head. “Nope. I don’t want to talk about it. Just know that it was a long time coming. If I talk about it here, I might cry or throw things. “
