"No, no. Have a drink first. Then we can have dinner, and I'll sign them then," he coaxes.

Looking him straight in the eye, I pull a bottle of water out of my back, open it, and take a sip. "I have my drink right here, and I won't be eating dinner. I have another appointment after I leave here." Screwing the bottle shut, I place it back in the briefcase.

"Don't be in such a hurry to leave. I thought we could spend a little time together." His hand goes to my leg, moving up it quickly.

My hand grabs his, pressing gently. "Sign the papers." He squeezes my leg, trying to move further up, and I press my hand more firmly into his. I watch as he grimaces, his hand releasing my leg. "Now pick up the pen on the table and sign on the line with the red tabs. After, the money will be transferred to your account, and we'll send you a copy of the signed contracts." I point to the contracts, and he signs each line quickly. I remove my hand with a warning look, before scanning the papers to make sure everything is signed. Shuffling the papers together, I put them back in the briefcase. I pull out the bottle of water. "If you want to talk to me, I'll sit here and drink this water. When I'm finished, I'll leave. Start talking."

He swallows as our food is delivered. Isn't he sweet? "What is your plan for my company? Are you going to hire more people? Change the product?"

"Above my paygrade." I look at the food, then at him. "You honestly thought I would sit here and eat and drink with you?" I'm turning into my bosses.

Smarmy eases a smile on his face. "I thought at least you would have dinner with me since you came to get the contracts signed. Do you know if I'll still be the face of the company?" He absently rubs the back of his hand.

"Again, I don't know what the plan is for your company. They don't tell me anything until it happens, or even after it happens." Lie. "But I'm sure you'll be happy with the outcome." Another lie. I finish my bottle of water. "It's time. My bosses will reach out to you with any inquiries they have. The money will be in your account by the end of day tomorrow." I stand, putting the empty bottle back in my bag. "It was nice doing business with you. Have a great night." I stick out my right hand, and he hesitantly takes it, shaking it. I press into his palm just a little bit before letting go, my lip lifting on the side. "Touch me again without my permission, and I will drop you." Spinning on my heel, I make my way out of the restaurant and into the waiting limo. Luckily, the guys did make sure I had a ride there and back that wasn't a taxi.

I refuse to do this shit anymore. If I'm going to be theirs as they say, then they need to find another way to get the contracts signed.

Too tired of fighting off creepy men.

When I pull up to the hotel, I thank the chauffeur as he opens the car door for me.

Jake intercepts me on the way inside. "Hey. How did everything go?"

"Pretty well, got the papers signed. Now I'm going up to put everything away." I hold the briefcase a little closer to me.

He glances at it and then back at me. "What are they going to do now that everything is signed?"

"What do you mean?" I adjust the case over my arm.

He purses his lips as his eyebrows dip. "What's going to happen with the company?"

"Honestly, I don't know. I haven't been told anything yet." I take a step closer to the elevators. "I have to go. It was nice seeing you again."

Jake touches my arm as I move away from him. "Do you want to have dinner and pick up where we left off last night?"

"I'm sorry." I give him a sad smile. "But after what happened yesterday with my bosses, and the papers are signed, they won't let this happen. Also, now that the papers are signed, we can't mix business with pleasure. I was so happy to see you and catch up. I'm sure with this merger, we'll see each other again." I give him a small wave as I go to the elevators. They open, and I step inside, taking a deep breath as they close behind me.

The papers are signed, and I even get a tour of the city. My bosses have claimed me.

Even though I didn't get a day off, it has been a great trip.

They're waiting for me in my room when I arrive. My eyes roll in my head. "What do you want? You made me go and have my own bottled water with that smarmy little man. I got the contracts signed, and you have to stop using me for this shit."

"Did he try something?" Marsten's forever scowl gets deeper.

I give him that look. "Don't they always? What did you expect? He had a drink waiting for me. I pulled out my bottle of water and drank from it after I inflicted enough pain on him to get him to sign the contracts faster. What do you think happens?"

"They get to have dinner with a beautiful woman and then sign the contracts," Drew deadpans.

I take in the three of them. "You're not kidding, are you? The way you present me to these people, you're practically telling them I'll sleep with them." My palm goes to my forehead, and my eyes close before I look at the three of them again. "You saw how the man was pawing at me yesterday, and you still wanted me to go to dinner with him. Hell, he tried to drug, me and another one almost succeeded a long time ago. That's why I carry my own water."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Haddon asks, clueless.

I drop the briefcase on the table and take off my shoes. I've had enough for today. Reaching my ears, I remove the heavy earrings. "I've told you all so many times, but you wouldn't listen. It's like you wanted to pimp me out. I need this job, so I allowed it to happen, so that's on me too."

Placing my earrings on the dresser, I then remove my jacket and take a seat on the couch by the three of them. They're quiet, and I look up. Chagrined faces greet me.

"You won't have to worry about it anymore. One of us will be with you from now on to get the contracts signed," Marsten states as he picks up the briefcase. "What's the lock code?"
