“Get in the car, Zoerina.”
I followed her in, ignoring that she scooted herself to the other end of the seat to stare out the window.
“Where to, Mr Hijra?” the driver asked.
“Garden District. Take me home.”
“So, he’ll drop me off after you?” she said.
“Maybe after we’ve eaten, but I’m definitely feeding you.” Opening my food delivery app, I ordered Chinese, an item from each of the menu categories. The estimated delivery was about the same time as our arrival. Perfect. I wanted no interruptions to our time together. Time that was long overdue. This past month the office worked hard in preparation for the gulf pipeline deal. As the bill was being negotiated, moving from the Senate to the executive branch, our lawyers, the partners, and department heads rebutted objections, prepared marketing, press releases and finalized funding.
Down to the wire, we were at a stand still until the votes came in. Evan’s man hadn’t come through on the first round of votes but we had since sweetened the deal with a larger donation to his political campaign. The new agreement only needed to be delivered.
“You’re home, Sir.” The driver hurried out the car to open our doors. “Should I wait?”
“Go home,” I said to the driver, “I won’t be needing you anymore tonight.”
Once I had the food containers laid out on the counter, I faced Zoerina. “Food or shower, which would you like to start with first?”
“First?”
I closed the distance between us. Taking her hands into mine, I kissed her knuckles. “Tired, hungry, sweaty…” I reminded her of her earlier objections to eating at a restaurant. “I’m simply asking which order you want to address your complaints.”
She peered at me as if I’d lost my mind and perhaps I had. Her lie, which I took as a personal betrayal, had stung harder than I cared to admit. The only other woman I’d allowed to affect me in that way was my ex-wife, Harper. While I’d been trying to build our future away from the family business, Harper had turned her attention to a man who’d already made his way. I wouldn’t have faulted her had she stopped there.
“Shower it is,” I said, taking us to my bedroom.
She didn't protest as I removed her clothes then mine, or as I tested the water before stepping into the large shower. I took my time lathering her body with soap, washing the tiredness away from every inch of her curvy frame.
Soaping her wasn’t without consequence. I was fucking rock hard and it took all my strength to withhold my desires.
I passed my hands between her thighs and she gasped, her knuckles whitening against the shower tiles. Brushing her hair aside, I pressed my mouth to her nape, lapping the water droplets as I continued to roll her clit between my fingers.
“Anik,” she moaned my name and it was music to my ears.
“I know, fatenah.” I closed my eyes, savoring every whimpered breath and shudder vibrating between our bodies. “Asmahuu li 'an 'aetani bik… Let me take care for you.” I circled the little button, building a consistent, slow pace. Her back bowed and her hips rolled forward to meet my hand.
She trembled against me. “I’m coming!”
“Yes,” I growled in her ear. Her pleasure was my pleasure. “Come for me.”
I didn’t relent until she’d completely shattered in my arms and my fingers were coated in her cum. Turning her around, I held her close as she buried her face against my chest. I kissed her forehead, and massaged the length of her spine.
It wasn’t lost on me how perfectly she fit perfectly in my arms or how right she felt. I could lose myself in us. I swallowed. Apprehensive about being that vulnerable with another woman.
Zoerina sniffed and I frowned. “Look at me.” When she didn’t immediately do my bidding, I tilted her chin. While it was impossible to see her tears the water didn’t hide the slight redness clouding her eyes. “What is it?”
“It's nothing.” She sniffed again, trying to turn away.
I held fast. “Then why are you crying?”
“I thought I could do this, have great sex. Pretend like it’s…meaningless.”
“Meaningless?”
“But I can’t, Anik. I don’t know how to turn off my emotions or not fall for you. I don’t know how to compartmentalize.”
“Our relationship is anything but meaningless, fatenah.” I cupped her cheek and took a steadying breath. “Forgiving lies doesn’t come easy to me but I know this…with you is where I want to be.”
