Porsha smiled. “I guess we should at least live up to our charade, huh?”
“What do you mean?”
“We should play the part of us being together.”
“What do you have in mind?”
Porsha smiled. “We haven’t really been acting like a couple in terms of being affectionate.”
I slowly nodded. “So, we need to be doing a little PDA?”
“If you’re up for it.”
“I am if you’re being serious.”
“I wouldn’t bring it up if I wasn’t.”
“Let’s see how serious you are then.”
I pulled Porsha to me as she looked into my eyes. I bent down to face her as my lips slowly touched hers. Once we kissed, I felt every part of my body come back alive. It had been a long time since I had felt anything from just a touch or a kiss from a woman, but being with Porsha in that moment made me think about all the memories we had together and how much I had missed her. No matter how much I denied my feelings for Porsha, she was the woman that I wanted to be with. Now, I didn’t think I wanted to hide it. Not anymore.
We deepened the kiss as she put her arms around me. A moan escaped her lips as my hands touched the small of her back.
“Damn, you’re sexy,” I whispered as I kissed her neck.
“You are, too.”
“You want to get out of here?”
“What about your grandmother?”
“She’ll understand. Besides, the party is winding down.”
“We just got here.”
“I just want you, and I don’t want to hide it any longer.”
Porsha looked up at me and smiled. “You do?”
“Yes, I do. Why do you sound so shocked?”
“Because of everything that has happened.”
“Which is still a work in progress, but we have been around each other more recently, and it made us go back to the old times that we used to share. It made me be around the person that I fell in love with.”
Porsha looked genuine as she took my hand into hers. “I feel the same way.”
“So, you’re ready to go?”
“Can we at least say good night to your family?”
“Of course.”
As we went to say bye to Abuela, she was surrounded by my dad, Diana, Jasper, and Chandra. She looked crazed when she noticed I had my arm around Porsha. She quickly looked away from Chandra, which had me wondering what happened in the restroom earlier.
“Sorry, family, but we have to leave. There’s an emergency meeting at Oxford regarding Stacy’s book.”
“A meeting at this time of night?” my dad asked.
