Deceive Me
SAVAGE BOSSES
T.B. Bond
CHAPTER 1
Judy-Lynn
“C
an you believe this?” I typed in theAm I The Asshole?thread of the BBD site. “First, my boss quits and sabotages the entire project. I mean, he went full-scale villainy on our files. The only saving grace was that he didn't break the computers. I guess he thought he was too smart for the rest of us.”
A flurry of ellipses danced in the chat as everyone online responded. BBD, or Boss Be Damned, was the premier place to get work tea about someone else's job and to rant about your own. Some of these people worked at crazy places. One lady posted about how her boss told her to lose weight since she was the first thing people saw when they entered the office.
But the wildest story was about a woman in a fake relationship with her boss. It sounded like she was falling for him. Yuck. That was the craziest thing I had ever heard. I hadn't seen her post in a while, but why rant about her dick boss when he's giving the D to her? It was all messy and hypocritical. She was going to end up fired with a juicy BILF story in a few weeks and it would be epic.
“That's crazy,” runner64 wrote.
“I know, right?” I typed. “Then I got called into a meeting. It was a mess. The owner kept harping on how unqualified I was to lead a project. But guess what? His project manager had no clue what was going on, and I had to educateher.”
“LOL. She sucks,” hotmom29 commented.
“Yeah, she does. That lady is such a jerk. She's always making snide comments to the leads like she's better and she ignores the rest of us. I never liked her.”
“That's how they do,” blackreina78 wrote. “I bet she's an old puta that's scared you will take her job. I got one of those at my spot, too.”
“Well, she better pack her bags because I'm going to take it. The owner’s trying to set me up by making me come up with a strategy over the weekend like it’s some test run or something. I got this! My best friends are lawyers, I learned to find a way through anything. I'm not about to fall flat on my face in front of those people on Monday.” Right after Martinicon is through. I’d leave early on Sunday before the closing ceremonies. It sucked but another Martini was sure to record it on MeTube. I would have had three days of books, cosplay, and my favorite author by then. One afternoon wasn’t too bad if it meant sticking it to all those who thought I would fail.
“Promotion!” blackreina78 typed. “Just don't become an asshole.”
“Stick it to them,” runner64 chimed in.
“She's going down,” hotmom29 cheered.
“I know that's right. I will show her what thisunqualifiedwoman can do, and the owner can suck it, too. He thinks that because he's hot, he can talk to people any kind of way. He’s lucky I met his partner first. He’s the only reason I took this job.”
“That's a BILF for you,” runner64 wrote. “Get yours and get out.”
“Oh, is the partner hot?” hotmom29 asked. “Sounds like fun #whychoose. LOL.”
No one had to worry about me. They were both fine and out of the question. I had book boyfriends. They were safeandsexy. They never left me disappointed. “I don't mix pleasure with my coin. That's how to end up in the poor house.”
“This! A hundred percent this!” blackreina78 commented. “I love it.”
Me too. Ryu Tsuki with his stoic expression and sexy chin.
Stop using that adjective, girl. He is the enemy.
“I'm out. I gotta make that bitch eat crow and get back to my book. My bookman is calling me.”
I signed out.
Ring.My phone lit up with Chantel's face. It was not wine o'clock in Chantel land yet.
Oh, goodness, what happened now?
I pounced on the phone. “What happened? Don't tell me you lost the case.”
