Scar looked at Exa.

Exa smiled. “It’s okay. She loves me too much to hurt me.”

Scar looked at Nova. Nova held his gaze.

“I would shake your hand, but mine is bloody,” he told her.

Superior reached out and grabbed his hand. “I’m used to blood,” she told him before walking over to Exa.

Scar stared at Exa again.

“Go,” she told him. “Find Declan and make sure he’s okay.”

Scar sighed. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

She watched her man leave.

“Stop grinning like a fool,” Superior told Exa as she wiped her hand on Exa’s shirt.

“I love you too, superior.”

“If you did, you’d make me worry less.”

“I’m trying. Now, what are you doing at the judge’s mansion?”

“I had a feeling you’d need me. Arson told me of your plan. So, we flew out in case you needed us.”

“You and who?”

“Me, Peril, and the Trinity.”

Damn, she’d brought the Trinity.

“Arson told me you were trying not to take many lives. Why?”

“I wanted them to wake up in the cages they helped bring into the basement. I wanted them to feel trapped. I wanted them to scream all night for help but never receive it. Then I wanted them to starve to death, one by one.”

Nova chuckled. “That’s my girl. But we can’t have that. If someone found them before they starved, they could describe you to the police. That’s not an option. So, we’ve handled it.”

“They wouldn’t have been found.”

“We’re not taking that chance, dear. Now, is he dead?”

Exa looked back at the judge, whose eyes were closed. She walked over and slapped him. His eyes opened, and he began crying again.

“No. He was just out.”

“You cut his dick off?” Nova asked.

“Not yet. It was already that size. I have cut pieces of it, though.”

“And you used the cauterizer. Good idea.”

“It was Skye’s idea.”

Nova nodded. “Give her five extra points on her report. That was a great idea.”
