Page 62 of Forget Me Twice

I’m now nestled in a deliciously muscled Rox Boy sandwich. It doesn’t even matter that one of the slices of bread is sending me death glares.Yum.

“Drive,” Callum grunts and Tristan flares his nostrils but peels out with protest.

* * *

“Update,”he barks when we’re a block away from The Gatehouse.

Lake leans up behind Tristan to rest his chin against the shoulder of the front seat. No one’s bothered to put on a seatbelt.

“A couple of dipshit Aces stumbled on the meet, but Monelli took them both out. Then our girl here showed up. Reynolds was all set to try and take care of her as well, but of courseCallumgot in first,” he slumps back, pouting and blowing a curl off his forehead like a petulant child.

He sounds genuinely disappointed that Callum was the one that got to do all the killing tonight.

“Both?” Tristan asks evenly.

“Both,” Callum confirms for him.

“And why the fuck was she there in the first place?”

“Why are you talking about me like I’m not even here?” I grumble.Rude.

“She followed me,” Atlas cuts in with his dark, gravelly voice andGood. Lord.My thong, as flimsy as it already was, is nowdefinitelya lost cause.

These boys are a goddamn hazard to panties everywhere.

Turning my head, I raise my eyebrows and snark, “So youcanspeak,Hades.”

He just doubles down on the eye daggers.

“Hades?” Tristan and Callum both scoff at the same time, closely matched in their obvious annoyance at this whole night.

I let out a chuckle that sounds slightly unhinged, even for me. I’m still high as a kite and I havenegativefilter right now.

But truth is, I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Top tier assets needs a company-issued aliases, and this group is certainly aPantheonof god-like bodies, with temperaments to match.

Yes. Something about the mythos just seems tospeakto me.

Or perhaps that’s just the drugs.

“Yes,Ares, I think it rather suits him, don’t you? The way he skulks around, unseen. I justbethe’s one who likes to watch.”

Those eye daggers are now longswords.

I almost want to add that Hades was also known as the God of Wealth. We weren’t able to find who they were working for in our deep dive into their personal lives, but it wasn’t hard to find Atlas’s portfolios and to see the stock market magic he’s been working for their group.

Buttheydon’t know thatIknow that.

Yet.

“Oh Callum’s Ares now, is he?” Lake slips his arm behind my neck and leans excitedly into me. I can feel his hot breath on my jaw. My pelvic floor does an involuntary stomach crunch.

“The God of War? No brainer. Just look at him,” I nod towards the huge, tattooed thug simmering angrily in the front seat. He’s hunched over, fists clenched on top of his thighs. I can see his muscles in High Definition as they pull tight beneath his Henley.

Lake chuckles appreciatively. “Idefinitelysee it. So, who am I then, my love?” I turn my head towards him, finding his hazel eyes bright, glittering with their usual mirth. He’s so unfazed by the events of tonight.

No one would suspect that he just watched four men die in a seedy alley.

Anyone with two eyes could see they’ve each got a little damage; each very darkandvery delicious. There’s no denying we’d be an unholy match made in hell.
