Haelyn Ross

so far so good *celebrating emoji*

everyone is out now, so I can work some more and prove that I’m competent and determined to get this job

how’s your day going? *smile emoji*

Me

Better now that I’m talking to you.

My nose scrunched. So cheesy, yet I knew it was going to do the job.

Me

Did you not take a break all day?

Haelyn Ross

no, I’m on a roll *thunder emoji*

Me

So I take it you like it there. That’s good, I’m happy for you.

Do you have another break in case you get hungry later?

Even though I knew the work schedule, Chad didn’t so I had to make sure I played my cards right.

“What do you think about my new colleague?” Sara began to chit-chat and her words passed right by my ear.

The coffee maker was on my left side and it covered any other noise, but I didn’t mind since it gave me an excuse to ignore Sara without being a dick.

I brought the brown cup to my lips and took a sip before focusing back on Haelyn.

Haelyn Ross

nope, I don’t think so.

Me

Then why not eat something? You have a full day ahead to work. You might not feel hungry now, but when you will, you won’t have the chance to eat.

Haelyn Ross

yeah.. I guess you’re right??

A small smile formed on my lips and Sara took it as a reply to her question. “So you like her. I assumed you would since she has the looks and to be honest, she’s a quick learner as well. Give her those two weeks and she might replace me easily.” She spoke louder this time, making sure I heard her before ending the sentence with a forced laugh.

I lifted my eyes to her. “Who?” Behind her, people were waiting in line for their orders.

Sara looked from side to side, a blush creeping on her cheeks. “Haelyn? Your new employee?”

Ah.

I opened my mouth to ask what was about her since it was the first interesting subject Sara had ever brought into a conversation when my phone pinged with another message.
