In the morning Neve wakes up fresh and beautiful.
“No headache?” I ask, nuzzling my face into her neck with the blankets still wrapped warmly around us.
“No, and honestly, I’m surprised. Although it’s been a while since I drank anything, so I think I got tipsy off a minimal amount of shots.” She laughs.
“You were a little more than tipsy, my love.”
She huffs. “Don’t be so dramatic.” She laughs, turning around and nuzzling against my chest.
I sigh. I still have to ask.
“Last night, you were a little drunk, and I know that might have affected the choices you made. I need to ask you again?—”
“Yes.” She says, interrupting me.
“What?” I stammer, confused.
“Yes, Celso. I am madly in love with you. Yes, I want to move back in here. Yes, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and yes, I want to be married to you.”
She grins, her gorgeous blue eyes looking at me with mischief. “Did I leave anything out? Because I can carry on.”
“Oh can you? What else?” I ask, smirking.
“Yes, you are the hottest guy I’ve ever seen in my life. Yes, when you touch me it’s like a drug, I can’t get enough of. Yes, you make me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. Yes, your cock is—” I kiss her. She’s laughing against my lips as I press my mouth over hers and pull her body to lie on top of mine.
Our kiss grows deeper, more intimate and my heart tightens in my chest. When she tilts her head away, she is smiling with a more serious expression. “I mean it, Celso. I love you. I love you. All I want is to be with you. I tried to stay away. I was scared and worried about what you’d done, but I don’t care. None of it matters. I want to be with you.”
“That’s all I need to hear, my angel. I love you too. And all I want is you.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Neve
The morning after clubbing with Dalila I wake up in Celso’s bed - my bed - and I’m happy. We talk for ages. I let out everything that was in my heart - my fears and what I want for the future, even though I don’t really know - I am sure I want trust and honesty and openness. I want to rely on him.
We talk and we listen late in the morning we are still curled up in each other’s arms when Celso says, “I’ll give you a lift to your brother’s place so you can fetch all your things. You’re moving back in today. I won’t spend another night without my wife by my side.”
A thought strikes me, and I scrunch my nose as I prop myself up onto my elbows and stare at him. “Why did you ignore me?” I ask. “For the last few days you didn’t even message me. Why?”
He chuckles.
“To be honest, there are two reason. The first is that I thought you needed some proper space to think clearly without me breathing down your neck.”
I narrow my eyes. “And the second?”
“I thought I’d let you see what it is like to miss me and realize what you’re giving up?” I chuckle.
I push him playfully on the arm. “You are so freaking cheeky.” I mutter.
He grabs me and rolls me over, his body over mine as he presses me into the mattress, pinned beneath him.
“But you came running - so it worked.” He says seductively.
“Came running?” I exclaim. “Excuse me?”
He laughs at the warmth of it rolls through me, swelling in my heart and making me smile. “Fine. Icame running. Especially when you left the club as though I meant nothing.”
“What you don’t know is that I’ve been watching you the whole time. Even while I was silent. I never took my eyes off you.”
