“Turn over. Let me massage your back and shoulder muscles.”
He hesitated for a moment, then rolled to his stomach.
“There’s some hand cream in the bathroom.”
She climbed off the bed and brought a bottle of lotion, then pulled down the covers.
He was lying with his eyes closed, and she poured some of the slippery white liquid into her hands, then straddled his body, her knees on either side of his waist as she leaned over and started massaging the tense muscles of his neck and shoulders and back.
After a moment, he gave a deep sigh of pleasure, and she kept working on him with slick hands, trying not to notice that straddling him and touching him was turning her on. Her breasts started to feel full and achy. And she couldn’t stop herself from pressing her sex downward to increase her own pleasure.
Partly to distract herself, she began talking to him in a low voice.
“Where was the briefing with Luntz?”
“Shepherdstown, West Virginia.”
“Ah—so you came up with the location.”
He sounded surprised. “Yeah. I didn’t remember it before. But I guess it popped back into my head.”
“That’s good. Why there?” she asked, trying to focus on business and not the heat rushing through her body.
“They used some abandoned buildings in an industrial park.”
She sat up straighter. Did Montgomery participate?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Just Luntz and the group going on the mission?”
“Yes.”
“How long were you in Afghanistan?”
“Eighteen hours,” he answered. “Then it all blew up in our faces.”
She wanted to ask, “How?”
But she didn’t push in that direction.
“Was Luntz with you in Afghanistan?”
“No.”
“Do you know the real mission?”
“No.”
She had felt his tension coming back as she asked the last few questions.
“Sorry,” she murmured.
“You got some stuff out of me,” he said in a gritty voice.
“I should stop being so aggressive.”
“Or maybe you shouldn’t.” He laughed. “I know what you’re doing. And I don’t mean your questions. I can feel the heat coming off you.”
