Page 74 of Gunner

One glance next door revealed Asher was still shamelessly gawking at us. “Let’s go inside,” I said stiffly to Gunner and took Zeus’s leash from him.

The second we were inside, I wiped Zeus’s paws. I didn’t want to clean a trail of dirt that was sure to follow otherwise.

“Why were you next door?” Gunner asked. “And wearing those?”

“What’s wrong with my sweatpants?”

“They’re gray, and you’re free balling. If I can see the imprint of your dick, so can your neighbor.”

I straightened and adjusted my dick. “I was looking for my dog, which you took without telling me.” I scowled at Zeus. “How can you let a stranger take you away? With your training, you should know better.”

The words sounded petty, even to my ears, and I winced. If I was acting as if I didn’t know any better around Gunner, why should I expect better from Zeus? Zeus was always so mistrustful around strangers, though. I was still having a hard time accepting he’d gone off with Gunner willingly.

“He was scratching at the door this morning, so I took him for a walk to let you sleep in. Thought it was the least I could do. After all, I’m the reason you were so beat.”

“You should have left a note. I was worried sick.” I hugged Zeus, offering a silent apology for scolding him for the same thing I was doing.

“My handwriting’s shit, so I don’t write often.” He shook a paper bag at me. “But I bought you breakfast burritos. Does this make it up to you?”

“Hardly.” My stomach growled, and Gunner grinned.

“Guess you don’t want them, then. I figured a man your size could easily eat three, so considering last night, I bought you four.”

I shot to my feet and grabbed the paper bag from him. “It’s a start to begging for my forgiveness.” The burritos smelled delicious, and I felt like my stomach was sticking to my ribs.

“Hey, that’s not all yours. I gotta eat too.”

“Do you want to make it up to me or not?”

“Fine, but so we’re clear, I was the one doing most of the work last night, so technically, I should be eating five burritos.”

And man, had he put in a lot of work. My ass stung, my knees hurt from kneeling, and my back ached. I turned around, hiding my grin as I walked to the kitchen. “Let’s not forget you came over uninvited.”

“All right, next time I won’t come over unless you beg me to. How about that?”

I placed the paper bag on the island and brought Zeus’s bowl over to the sink. “You’re gonna have a long wait.”

Gunner crowded me against the sink and pressed his front to my back. He buried his face in the side of my neck and inhaled deeply, then settled his lips on my skin. My knees buckled, and the bowl clattered into the sink.

“Now you and I know damn well that ain’t true,” he whispered, hot breath hitting the side of my face. “I can have you right now if I want.”

“Good luck getting it up after last night,” I croaked.

He shoved his groin against my ass, and I gasped. He was fully hard. “Want to try me? I’ll have you bent over that sink and my cock buried inside you so fast.”

Gulping, I clutched the side of the sink. Just the image of Gunner fucking me the way he just described was making me hard too. My stomach growled again.

Chuckling, Gunner stepped back. “You need food. I can wait for tonight.”

Tell him he’s not wanted tonight.

I slipped Zeus some strawberries, pretending not to have heard what Gunner had said. I could neither invite him over nor reject him. What a pickle I’d found myself in.

“Aren’t you eating?”

“Have to make Zeus’s breakfast.”

But I was famished. I grabbed one of the burritos and bit into it. “Fuck that’s good.”
