“Are you…lost?”

A small, timid voice came from up the stairs, and a tall, slender young man, Fable, slowly descended.

“No. Just looking around.”

Would he alert Zak that I was trespassing?

“Do you want me to show you around?” He gave me a timid smile.

“You would?” Fable had always struck me as an introvert. Of all the boys, he and Miles were the quietest.

“Sure. Why not? Is there anything special you’d like to see?”

“No. I’ve just always passed by and was curious about it.”

“Come on up, then. I’ll show you upstairs.”

Fable took me up the stairs. More pictures of him with Zak and Booker adorned the wall. They had a Reaper banner displayed too. Mason would be rolling in his grave. He had tried so hard to separate himself from the MC, but now a couple of bikers and their boyfriend lived in his house.

“There’s not much to look at here,” Fable said. “Just the bedrooms and attached bathrooms. Those two bedrooms share a bathroom, but the other two have their own.”

I wanted to ask him so badly to let me enter the master bedroom, but I didn’t want him to get suspicious and call off the tour. Still, I was so close. Had Ben let Mason fuck him in this house? On that same bed?

“Have you changed much since getting the place?” I forced the words out.

“Just some minor stuff. The place looked newly furnished when we moved in.”

“I see.”

“We should get back down now.”

Reluctantly I followed him back downstairs, where Ben, Zak, and Alan were waiting for us.

Ben’s eyes were full of questions.

“We couldn’t find you,” he said.

“Didn’t go far. Ran into Fable, and he offered to give me a tour.”

“Why would you need a tour of this place?” Zak asked as he walked over to Fable and put himself between us.

“A friend used to live here,” I said. “Just wanted to see what it looked like now.”

An uncomfortable silence descended as everyone seemed to be waiting for me to continue. I felt Ben’s gaze drilling into me, but I refused to meet his eyes. Zak gave me a long, hard stare, then nodded at Ben.

“I think we’re done here,” he said. “Alan, you have everything you need, right?”

“Yes, I’ll be in touch in a few days. Hopefully.”

“We’ll go then,” Ben said. “Thanks again for your help, Alan, and please remember that this whole thing is to be kept quiet.”

“Don’t worry.”

Ben thanked Zak for his hospitality again as he walked us out. The door shut behind us. I had to give Ben props for waiting until we got into the car before he rounded on me.

“So a friend of yours owned this place?” he asked.

I grunted.
