Page 37 of Monsters After Dark

I float in a field of cotton with the sun warming my skin.

Two voices intrude, both masculine and crude, yet their words become music lilting up to the big, puffy clouds meandering across the sky. Tentative fingers weave into mine as two warm, comforting bodies wrap themselves around my sides, joining me in the soft bed of grass.

Mine.

This is the dream I’ve dreamt my entire life—basking in the sun on a peaceful stretch of land, surrounded by love and support—except there was only ever one body pressed against mine. Never before have I had two companions. Two lovers. Two soulmates.

Cold trickles into my spine, slow and immeasurable, as reality intrudes. Gentle hands stroke my neck and continue down my sides in reassuring sweeps as my men murmur their praise.

Tears trail down my face. They spread.

A sluggish thud within my chest reverberates up my spine and into my brain.

My tears encompass my face, but don’t stop there. They keep spreading.

A foreign word drifts into my ears, followed by the shriveling of my happiness.

My tears surround me, encasing my entire body in salty liquid, and with a shock, the truth runs through me.

I’m dying. These will be my last moments.

Worse than that, I’m dying between two monsters who’ve defiled my body.

Pain slices into my euphoria as teeth leave my flesh, but milliseconds later something warm and silky strokes along the wound, and the agony dissipates as though it never was. My eyes focus on the cloud of crimson hovering near my head, but I don’t process it as my blood until eager lips suck it away.

“Our pale omega tastes divine.”

With eyes so wide they ache, I meet glittery black orbs and stare at the octopus-like creature with slow, incomplete thoughts.

Not human. Evil. Pain. Wrong.

One word rises from within me so fast and sharp, my body jerks.

Mine.

Yet the blood in my veins grows stagnant and my peripheral vision fades.

“Swim, Zuk. She suffocates.”

The creature behind me snarls and jerks his hips, torturing me since his weapon still remains locked within my body, but the edges of my vision dim further.

A resounding growl leaves the one in front of me, but he blips out of sight so fast my failing brain decides he was never there to begin with. My flesh pebbles as cool water rushes over it, and I decide I miss the warmth my captor encased me in.

The body pressed against my back stiffens, then undulates side to side, something almost sharp sweeping back and forth across my heels, and I realize its his fin as he swims.

My eyelids drift down, the single beat of my heart almost too much effort, but tendrils of warmth wrap around my head and pry my jaw open. As water rushes in, my lungs jolt into action, awakening every cell within my body.

I suck down lungful after lungful of water, the sensation of not needing to exhale odd and the outward flow from the flaps of flesh near my collar bone too weird to process. With reanimation, every complaint within my body makes itself known, my womb throbbing around the massive intrusion.

“Yes, see, I take good care of you. Good little omega. Swim.”

Startled at the closeness of the voice, I open my eyes to find my tentacled tormentor leaning in to rub his face against mine. He slides his hold on my head around until there’s a clear spot for his cheek to meet mine. His whisper sends curls of heat down my spine.

“Ours. Forever.”

A groan sounds from behind me as the cock inside me jerks and troubles my insides with more of his release. With an influx of pressure on my clit, every nerve sparks to life, the hunger once sated now unfurling. Discomfort spears through the need as too much liquid fills my womb.

“Zuk, unmount her. My turn.”
