Page 70 of Untouchable

His head weakly lifts as he looks at us, a soft smile on his face. “Hey there, little flame. You guys are alive.”

“So are you,” I gulp, pushing back the emotion attempting to suffocate me.

He shrugs lightly. “Guess I am a tough bastard to get rid of.”

“Tell me about,” I joke hoarsely.

He smiles again as he looks at Seraphina for a few moments before he looks back to me. “You take care of her. Always. I didn’t listen to you ramble on about her for over 11 years for you to go and fuck it all up now. She deserves the best of everything, be it.”

I know he is trying to lighten the mood by giving me shit, but I ignore it completely, because taking care of her for the rest of my life is exactly what I intend to do.

“Always,” I promise with a nod of my head.

He nods softly, seeming content before the driver fires up the car. The doors shut and they take off like a bat out of hell.

“Is he gonna be okay?” Seraphina asks.

I wrap my non-injured arm around her and squeeze softly. “I sure fucking hope so.”

Benjamin comes running up to us, gun drawn. “What the fuck happened? Drew called and said that Seth shot him? Where is that little fuck. I’ll shoot him dead. I’ll-”

“Governor Ferguson beat you to it,” Seraphina says coldly.

Benjamin’s face stiffens at her words. “Fucking hell.” He wipes a hand down his face and shakes his head before he runs past us and into the house.

I turn to Seraphina, holding the side of her face gently. “Are you sure that you are okay?”

“No, of course not.”

I press a kiss to her forehead before I let out a shuddering breath. “Fuck. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to get to you. I thought that piece of shit was going to put his hands on you and then when Ferguson held that gun up to you, it was like my whole life flashed before my eyes.Youare my life. I couldn’t imagine a day without you. And the one time that you truly needed me, I fucking froze. You could have been dead. You could have-”

Seraphina silences me quickly with a kiss. “But I’m not. I am safe and alive, and it is because of you. We all could have died if you hadn’t broken free. You have saved my life more times than I can count over the last 5 days.”

My anger towards myself fades as I look at the beautiful woman in my arms.

“I just got you, finally. I wasn’t losing you for anything in the world. I never thought that I would ever get the chance to have, this,” I say as I gesture between us. “I always thought that you were out of reach. That you wereuntouchable.”

Seraphina looks up at me, a look full of love and passion, a look that has me ready to drop to my knees and be at her beck and call for the rest of my life. My heart thrums wildly in my chest as I look down at this girl,my girl.

“Touch me.”

Epilogue

Alessandro

It’s been 2 weeks since Governor Ferguson and his family, ‘mysteriously disappeared.’ People were baffled as to where they could have gone, that is until a phone call was made to the capitol where Nicholas Ferguson informed them that he could not handle the pressures any longer and him and his family were moving to Florida.

The story sounded completely ridiculous, but you would be surprised how convincing someone can sound when they had been starved and beaten in a practical dungeon for days. Nicholas Ferguson was willing to do or say anything to save his own neck. At one point he even offered up his son and wife in exchange for his freedom, he just wanted to live.

Now, I probably hate Aiden Ferguson more than anyone or anything else in the world, but even I felt a little bad for the guy. The look on his and his mother’s face when they heard Nicholas babble on about how we could have them as long as we let him go just confirmed what kind of scum the guy was.

In the end, they were all taken care of properly. Aiden had the audacity to ask to speak to Seraphina before we killed him. He swore he just wanted to apologize for everything, but he was fucked in the head if he thought for one second that I was letting him anywhere nearmygirl.

We lost a lot of good men because of the Vipers and the Fergusons. After killing the President and two of his right-hand men that day in the Mariano house, our soldiers went to their clubhouse and took care of the remaining members of the chapter. Normally, the Boss doesn’t like to execute mass amounts of people like that, but in this case, we knew there was no way around it.

The Boss reached out to the surrounding chapters, explaining the situation and assuring that as long as they cause no problems with us, we have none with them. All chapters agreed to keep out of our way so in turn we will do the same.

Once our parents were able to let it sink in that we were indeed alive, Seraphina and I went to the hospital to check on Drew. It was touch and go for a while and he was in surgery for over 6 hours, but he finally pulled through. Normally we would have one of our usual on-call doctors handle any medical emergencies, less questions that way, but we were so close to losing Drew that we knew we had to get him help regardless of questions. Besides, a GSW is nothing that a nice chunk of money can’t make disappear.
