It wasn’t a stranger as she had made it out to be.

It was a person from her past.

Someone that she knew.

Kazi heaved a sigh. He had hoped she would trust him with all of her secrets, but he couldn't fault the woman. He wasn’t exactly being fully honest with her either.

Kazi replaced the items into the envelope and stuffed it back where he found it.

He decided it was best tonotleave her with Mateo any longer.

Chapter 4

Yara

This dinner date was in the top three worst I had gone on of all time.

“Yes Liam, but can we please circle back to what you are looking for from my business?”

The table we sat at was in the center of a crowded restaurant. The food looked good, but I hadn’t taken more than a few bites, and each one tasted worse than the last.

“Like I said”–smack, smack–“I want a hot blonde, blue eyes, willing to fuck in a hotel after dinner.” Liam didn’t even look up as he chewed his food with an open mouth.

It took a moment for his words to register.

Not again.

Occasionally clients would ask for the discretion package to try to make a pass at me.

It never worked, other than to frustrate the fuck out of me.

Like in this exact moment. “Will you excuse me? I’ll be right back.”

Again, he didn’t look up from his food, just shooed me away with his free hand.

Now to see if this man was malicious or simply an asshole.

I walked until I was just around the corner where the bathrooms were and then out of sight, I watched Liam.

After a moment he stopped eating and glanced around suspiciously, his hand movingover my drink.

From this distance it was hard to tell if he actually did anything, but I wouldn’t be taking my chances. Still hidden around the corner, I flagged our waitress.

“Hi, here’s money for the meal and your tip. If you could please be careful when removing my drink, make sure it is dumped. The man should hopefully just leave, but if you have any issues here’s my card.” I shoved a few hundred at the waitress.

I didn’t wait for an answer; I would deal with Liam later.

Right now, I needed a drink.

Preferably one that didn’t have the possibility of being laced.

In my haste to leave, I didn’t notice that I had left my phone behind.

Chapter 5

Mateo

Mateo was torn. Did he want to wait for the man to finish eating and take the trash out or did he follow the mesmerizing woman that was making her escape out the front door, ducking down as she went. Her small stature made it much easier for her to sneak out.
