They’d just finished their picnic, something that had quickly become a daily tradition of theirs. It still felt a bit like skipping school, like she should be doing something more productive than lying in the sun, cuddling her mates in the middle of the afternoon. But, no one ever interrupted them, so she was slowly relaxing into it.
She felt whole, peaceful… and ready to bring up the topic that hadn’t left her thoughts. Yes, her relationships with Rellik and Sin were still new, but she’d wasted so much time already. She didn’t want to waste anymore. They were happy, truly happy together, and she was ready to finally broach the subject of expanding their family.
Taking a slow breath, she suppressed the butterflies that took flight in her stomach and opened her mouth…
“I have been thinking,” Tirox rumbled from her feet.
Lifting her head to see him, she frowned, vaguely disgruntled he’d unknowingly interrupted her. “About what?”
He met her gaze, his expression more serious than she usually saw from him. “Our lives are dangerous, yes, but… I was wondering… Could you not switch back and forth? If needed.”
“Huh?” She had no idea what he was talking about, but Kix made a low noise of astonishment in his throat.
“That is… brilliant, Tirox!”
Tirox zeroed in on him, his eyes sharp. “You think it could work then?”
Tilting her head back to see Kix, she watched as he seemed to consider it before a slow, excited smile began to spread across his face, making his already handsome features even more so.
“I- yes, I do. We will need to speak with Lilac, of course, but… ” He chuckled, the sound rough with emotion.
“What the hell are you two talk—”
“Children,” Kix interrupted.
Tirox nodded. “I believe you could move to a fertile clone and keep this one for backup if we are ever attacked. We could possibly even ask Lilac to set up a stasis tube in the ca… er, nearer to use. In case of emergency.”
Aria gaped, shock firing through her, but excitement was quick on its heels. Before she could make her mouth work, Sin and Rellik simultaneously jumped to their feet.
Her dragon reached down and picked her up, clearly not willing to wait for her to stand on her own, and took off for the complex, barking back at the others, “Let’s go.”
They ambushedLilac in the labs, Sin still holding her in his arms as all four men began talking at once. To her credit, Lilac took it all in stride, her huge black eyes flicking between the men.
When they finished, Lilac’s antennae were quivering, and she was all but twitching with excitement. Aria held her breath as Kix took Lilac’s offered hand, waiting to see what she said.
After a moment, Kix turned back to them, wearing the most brilliant smile she’d ever seen. “It can be done!”
“Now?” Aria asked breathlessly, stretching to clasp Lilac’s other hand. Now sounded really damn good.
Tirox grunted, flicking a wide-eyed look at, first, Kix, then Sin and Rellik. Trying to read their expressions to understand his hesitation, she almost missed Rellik subtly brushing Lilac’s shoulder with his hand.
Almost.
Lilac, who’d started to answer, stopped mid-thought then smoothly finished, “Three days. And it will be ready for you.”
They were definitely up to something, but Aria didn’t comment. She trusted them and knew they wouldn’t have prompted Lilac to change her answer to three days without a reason.
Chapter 45
Nothing could’ve prepared Aria for the surprise her men had conceived. Three days later, she was awoken by Rellik and Sin’s mouths, her devil between her legs, her dragon at her breasts.
Only when they’d made her come for them twice, each, did they take her, fucking her slowly, lovingly until her throat was hoarse from her screams and she was the next thing to comatose.
While she was still floating on a cloud of bliss in the aftermath, they laid down on either side of her and, looking more nervous than she’d ever seen them, held up rings. They were stunning, and for a long moment, Aria was speechless.
Sin’s was black as night with flecks of gold and purple. Rellik’s was a fiery orange that perfectly matched his beautiful eyes.
Sin nuzzled close and whispered in her ear, “Marry me, my light.”
